The recent Nintendo Direct held on July 31, 2025, unveiled some major game announcements. Here are all the ones you should know.

The Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase took place on the last day of July 2025. This event announced many third-party games that would be arriving on the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 consoles. There were several big and small named titles that were announced.
These include remakes of older games and new footage of upcoming games. Here is a summary of all the major game announcements.

Nintendo Direct (July 2025): All Major Game Announcements
The major games shown at this event were:
- Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
- Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2

Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

The 2024 arena fighter from the iconic anime series is being ported to the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 consoles. You will be able to play competitive or casual matches from the comfort of the handheld.
The port will release on November 14, 2025.
Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2
SEGA’s original Yakuza remakes, Kiwami and Kiwami 2, are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Kiwami will be available with enhanced framerate and more language support as well.
Both games can be bought as part of a digital bundle as well. Both Yakuza titles will be releasing on the Switch 2 on November 13, 2025.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales

Square Enix announced two major titles at this event. The first of these was this new title. Featuring HD-2D graphics similar to the Octopath games, you have to embark on an epic journey, aided by a fairy. Use different weapons and skills to take down your foes in this action RPG.
This title did not have an exact release date. It will be released sometime in 2026.
Octopath Traveler 0
A new title in the Octopath franchise has been announced, and it looks vastly different from its predecessors. Unlike previous games, you will be able to create and customize your own character to play as. The story revolves around a town called Wishvale burning, and then being restored by the player character.
You will also be able to notice the cast of the first Octopath Traveler game in certain snippets of this game. Octopath Traveler 0 will be playable on both Switch consoles starting December 4, 2025.
Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment

The direct showed a lot of new footage from the upcoming Legend of Zelda spin-off title. They showed various team up attacks from the main cast, comprising of Zelda, Rauru, and many other heroes. You can use Zelda’s time-related powers and Rauru’s light-related powers in battle against the forces of Ganondorf.
We do not yet have an exact date for this title. The only window we know so far is winter of the current year.
Plants vs Zombies: Replanted
An HD remake of the classic Plants vs Zombies is coming to both the Switch consoles. Along with having HD graphics, the game will also have local co-op and PvP modes to tune up the excitement.
You can already pre-order the game for when it will eventually launch on October 23, 2025.
