Call of Duty has brought four new Multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6 Season 5. They are Runway, Exchange, W.M.D., and Jackpot. However, only three of the four maps are currently available in the game. The final map, Jackpot, will arrive later in Season 5 Reloaded. Among these maps, the one that has players most excited is W.M.D. For those new to the series, W.M.D. used to be one of the most popular maps in Call of Duty: Black Ops (2010). Since then, it has also been featured in Black Ops 4 and Cold War.

Needless to say, the map pool has received some much-needed content updates. So, without any further ado, let’s take a closer look at all the new Multiplayer maps that have been added in Season 5 of Black Ops 6.

Overview of All New Multiplayer Maps in Black Ops 6 Season 5

1) Runway

The first Multiplayer map is Runway. It is a brand-new Core map designed specifically to take advantage of the gameplay mechanics in Black Ops 6. Since it is a Core map, it supports all 6v6 core game modes – be it TDM or Hardpoint. Runway is a medium-sized map, so expect weapon classes such as Assault Rifles to remain dominant. However, that doesn’t mean other weapons won’t be viable. The map features a three-lane design, which is quite typical for Call of Duty.

Its side lanes are designed for mid-to-long-range engagements. In contrast, the middle lane is where close-range weapons such as SMGs will overpower most other firearms.

Needless to say, the traditional three-lane layout allows all types of gameplay to shine. As for the map itself, it’s based on an airport that has seen better days. It now lies in ruins as chaos ensues. Flames, rising smoke, crashed planes, and littering luggage are some of the key visual highlights of this map. While they are not significant aspects of gameplay, they do help in setting a gloomy tone.

2) Exchange

The next new map is Exchange. It is a Strike map and features both 2v2 and 6v6 game modes. Since it is a Strike map, the map is smaller in size compared to Runway. Needless to say, being a smaller map, weapons such as Assault Rifles, SMGs, and Shotguns will reign supreme. It too follows a three-lane design that is proven to deliver a varied experience. However, its smaller scale can end up being challenging for players who prefer to snipe enemy targets from a distance.

Exchange is based on an abandoned marketplace. According to the lore, the market finds itself empty as the Rogue Black Ops team wreaks havoc to capture a mole.

3) W.M.D.

The classic Multiplayer map from Black Ops, W.M.D., is finally here. W.M.D., or World Motor Dynasty in Black Ops 6, is a remastered variant of the original map from 2010. It has been built up from the ground to ensure that it matches the gaming standards of today. Although the overall layout hasn’t changed, there have been several updates to the overall appearance. The original map was based on a Nova 6 processing facility. However, now it’s a luxury car manufacturing unit. So, don’t expect the same serious tone as seen in Black Ops.

It is a Core map and naturally features 6v6 game modes. The size hasn’t seen any changes either and remains a medium-sized map, allowing all types of guns to shine.

4) Jackpot

The last of the new Multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6 Season 5 is Jackpot. It is the only new map that hasn’t joined the game yet and is scheduled for a release later with the mid-season update. If you have played the Black Ops 6 Campaign, you would be familiar with the Casino Luttazzi, and this map just happens to be based on it. However, it has been reworked and inspired by the map Casino from Black Ops 4.

It too is a Core map featuring 6v6 game modes. As for the size, Jackpot is also a medium-sized map. That said, we don’t know about its layout at the moment. We expect to learn more about the map as we get closer to the release of Season 5 Reloaded.

That covers just about everything that you need to know about all the new Multiplayer maps in Black Ops 6 Season 5.
