Among Us is a game that needs a little introduction. Developed by a small team of four, the game was released in 2018 but took till the pandemic to blow up into the mainstream. With the lockdown in play, everyone you knew was playing this game. Now, while the numbers may have dropped off, the game remains part of the zeitgeist through memes and social media.
Capitalizing on Among Us’ success, the developers are now once again looking to leave their imprint on the zeitgeist with Among Us 3D. Announced earlier today, this game takes everything you love about Among Us and puts it into a 3D map. You then explore these maps in first person, which makes the whole experience more immersive, and far more tense.

Everything We Know About Among Us 3D
Switch to 3D and First Person
As stated earlier and as evident by the game’s title, Among Us 3D will let you play the game in 3D and a first-person perspective. This shift in perspective is a total game-changer that will freshen up your Among Us experience. For instance, when walking down any hallway, you will now only be able to see where your camera is pointed at. Previously, the camera was a top-down view and you could see everything in your vicinity. Now, you better watch your back – it is your blind spot.
Release Date, Demo, and Platforms
While the trailer showed off a lot of the new gameplay changes, a glaring flaw was the omission of a release date. We don’t know when the game will be released but we shall receive a playable demo as part of the Steam Next Fest from February 24, 2025. You can download the demo once it is live on Steam. Search up “Among Us 3D” on Steam to find the page and install the demo next week.
As far as the platforms are concerned, the game is only slated for a PC release currently. The game’s trailer only showed Steam as a platform. This is a bit of a bummer as the original game is available on almost every platform. We hope that the game eventually makes its way to other platforms.
