Tekken 8 was one of the most anticipated fighting games prior to its release. The game has been going quite steadily since then, and it even won in the Best Fighting Game category at the 2024 Game Awards. After that, the developers kept releasing new content to keep the game fresh. Among them, fans have been particularly happy about the addition of Clive from Final Fantasy 16 as a playable character. However, it doesn’t stop there because Bandai Namco has recently released a trailer that announced Anna Williams’s return in Tekken 8. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

Anna Williams Is Coming Back in Tekken 8

As we discussed, the last character addition in Tekken 8 was Clive, and even though many fans wanted Tifa instead, it was always going to be hard to do something even better. However, we are glad to tell you that the developers did not disappoint the community because it has been confirmed that Anna Williams is coming back to Tekken next.

To be more specific, Bandai Namco has recently revealed that Anna Williams will be the new playable character in Tekken 8’s Season 2 in a gameplay trailer. The core fanbase of the franchise is already familiar with this character. However, if you are new and don’t know who she is, we’ve got you.

Anna Williams is a long-running character in Tekken. She was first introduced as the sister of Nina Williams in the first-ever Tekken game, and since then, she has made an appearance in most of the mainline titles in the series. But how does she fight? Well, she was trained as an assassin, so she can use a variety of martial arts techniques, and in the game, her combat style is quick and fluid.

Despite being an assassin, the character’s personality is quite social and flirtatious, which is a nice contrast to her sister Nina’s more reserved demeanor. The two sisters have a long-running rivalry, and Nina usually gets the upper hand whenever they meet.

Now let’s talk about the trailer a little bit. In the gameplay trailer, we saw Anna in her classic red and black outfit using a rocket launcher. It looked like an essential part of her moveset and can be considered an answer to Clive’s sword. Shortly after a few clips of Anna beating her opponents, including her sister in Tekken 8, we also got a release date for when she is going to be added to the game, which is March 31, 2025, for early access and April 3, 2025, for everyone else.

The New Season 2 Roadmap

After Bandai Namco announced the release date, they also revealed a new roadmap for Tekken 8’s second season. The developers confirmed that fans will be getting four new characters, the first being Anna Williams. After that, players will be able to enjoy a new stage and another character in the summer, a new character in autumn, and lastly, another stage and character in winter 2025.

Unfortunately, we do not know who these characters are going to be. However, it is likely that we might see another big crossover in the winter.
