Discover 4 Naruto jutsu everyone knows about and 4 that only true fans remember. Find the different features of each jutsu too.
Naruto is a world-renowned anime with thrilling battles in a ninja setting. A big element of its fight sequences are different jutsu. Whether it be ninjutsu, genjutsu, taijutsu, or any other creative technique introduced in the series—these moves have formed a dedicated following of their own.
Due to the wide range of abilities showcased in Naruto, however, it becomes practically impossible for most fans to remember every jutsu. Here are 4 Naruto jutsu every viewer knows and 4 others that only the truest fans can remember.
4 Naruto Jutsu Everyone Knows About
There is no shortage of memorable jutsu introduced in Naruto. These have contributed to several exciting moments in the series while having a deep meaning behind their creation.
1) Rasengan
The Rasengan is one of the most iconic Naruto jutsu that even those who haven’t watched the show can recognize. Created by Minato Namikaze, this was inspired by the Tailed Beasts’ attacks and made to protect Kushina.
Later in the series, Jiraiya taught Naruto this move. The Rasengan involves collecting raw chakra in one’s hand and spiraling it to form a powerful, dense sphere. This is capable of causing great damage to whatever it comes in contact with. There have been various versions of the Rasengan, such as the Rasenshuriken, Big Rasengan, and more.
This has been a relevant ability right from Naruto to its successor Boruto. Useful in battle against the likes of Madara and the Otsutsuki Clan, we don’t see this technique falling out of memory any time soon.
2) Chidori
The Chidori is the spiritual sibling of the Rasengan that was made by Kakashi as its replacement. In order to add his lightning nature, Kakashi gathered chakra with lightning in his hand. Rather than spinning it, he let it envelop before charging at his opponent at great speed.
In Naruto, the Chidori becomes one of the signature moves of Sasuke, who combined it with Six Paths, Blaze Release, and other variants. The multiple clashes between Rasengan and Chidori signify Naruto and Sasuke’s rivalry.
The Rasengan is more destructive but the Chidori can be done quickly and is useful for assassinations. It is also dangerous since it gives the user tunnel vision and needs to be paired with the Sharingan or other spatial perception techniques to stay safe.
3) Shadow Clone Jutsu
The very first significant jutsu Naruto learns in the series is the Shadow Clone jutsu. This is a high-level technique that creates clones of the user while evenly dividing the chakra between each one of them.
Due to the strain it causes, it was also forbidden. However, since Naruto had great quantities of chakra and Kurama’s energy too, he could overcome its barrier. Naruto can produce hundreds of clones and uses them ingeniously in battle.
Beyond fighting, the Shadow Clone jutsu is useful for pranks, distractions and simply taking the enemy by surprise. The most notable use of this was in the final fight against Kaguya, where Naruto created clones of attractive men to distract Kaguya.
4) Eight Gates Release
The Eight Gates Release is a supremely powerful and dangerous taijutsu technique. It helps the user unleash incredible strength by pushing the body to its limits. The famous users of this in Naruto have been Rock Lee and Might Guy.
While Rock Lee could not open all the gates in Naruto: Shippuden, Might Guy demonstrated the fearsome powers of the full technique. By puncturing himself above the heart, he opened all gates and released a flaming aura from his body.
This gave him power far beyond that of the Five Kages, where he could fight evenly with the invincible Madara. This would have typically cost him his life but Naruto saved him with the Yin-Yang Release.
4 Naruto Jutsu Only True Fans Remember
Several impressive techniques in Naruto get lost among the plethora of jutsu in the series. It does not speak of their strength but rather of unfortunate circumstance, timing or not having been mentioned in the story again. 4 jutsu in Naruto that only true fans remember are:
1) Body Pathway Derangement
The Body Pathways Derangement jutsu is extremely distinctive because it is exclusive to Tsunade and applies her medical knowledge. It uses her prowess and pours electricity into the nervous system of the target.
This messes up the connection between the brain and the limbs, making those affected unable to control their bodily functions. The only way to counter this is for the target to rapidly relearn the connection between their nerves, something only Kabuto has achieved.
Nevertheless, this physical attack is different from the rest since it doesn’t have explosive feats. Unfortunately, Tsunade is not a primary figure in the series and the jutsu has not made its appearance in a long time. Her disciple, Sakura, has also not shown signs of learning it.
2) Reaper Death Seal
The Reaper Death Seal has all the elements of being a memorable technique but has only been used minimally in the entire Naruto series. Hence, despite its huge relevance to the plot, it is easy to forget it given how long it’s been.
Created by the Uzumaki Clan, it is a sealing technique that sacrifices the user’s soul to summon a shinigami. The shinigami can then seal the enemy’s soul and trap them for an eternity. When the shinigami captures the target, they are unable to use any jutsu or attack.
Minato had used this to seal Kurama’s yin chakra, transforming the beast into a jinchuriki. Another important moment was when Hiruzen sacrificed himself to trap Orochimaru and stop his evil schemes.
3) Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals
The Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals is a highly imaginative technique that true fans regret not having returned in the series. It was one of the first challenges faced by Naruto and Sasuke, as they fought Haku.
This is a kekkai genkai technique creating large mirrors out of ice to surround the target. Haku could travel between the mirrors instantly and attack as he desired. The mirrors require large chakra output but can still prove to be useful against the strongest of individuals.
The series has mentioned that this is a technique of the Yuki Clan, but the jutsu hasn’t returned since Haku’s death.
4) One’s Own Life Reincarnation Technique
Naruto has shown multiple medical jutsu saving others from the brink of death. Hence, it is understandable why the One’s Own Life Reincarnation technique has been forgotten by most. Nevertheless, it is still highly regarded by the few fans who can remember it.
The only user of this technique was its developer, Chiyo. In exchange for her life force, she could heal or save others using chakra as an intermediary. This was displayed in an ultimate act of sacrifice where Chiyo gave up her life to save Gaara.
Similar to Tsunade’s Body Pathway Derangement, many were hoping for Sakura to carry on its legacy since she experienced the jutsu firsthand. Unfortunately, given the huge selection of medical jutsu, it seems unlikely for this to make a return.
