As a student of Shiketsu High School, Camie aspired to become a Pro Hero. However, she was initially drugged by the League of Villains, allowing Toga to imitate her and infiltrate the exams. Despite the chaos, the real Camie remained surprisingly carefree after being filled in on the details.

This is the best description of Camie Utsushimi since she is an easygoing individual with a laid-back personality. A highlight of her character is moments where she talks using modern lingo, stunning viewers. Camie is highly talkative in her own unique demeanor, where most around her have no idea what she’s saying.

While she may seem airheaded at certain moments, there are scenes depicting her insightfulness. She could calm the kids down during the remedial exam and also gave useful advice regarding Bakugo’s brashness. 

Camie Utsushimi’s Strengths and Abilities

Camie’s hero name is Illus-o-Camie and hints at her ability. Her Quirk, Glamour, allows her to emit smoke and create illusions that are extremely convincing to the senses. The range of this ability is large enough to create an aurora in the sky.

Camie can also create doppelgangers with her ability, which she terms “Doppelviber”. This was seen when she created an alternate, nicer version of Shoto during the remedial course. Hence, Camie’s powers may not be destructive in nature, but they are extremely useful in supporting roles during battle.

Camie’s quick-thinking and ingenious use of her ability was also useful against the likes of All For One in the final war.

Camie Utsushimi’s Role in My Hero Academia

We have already seen how Camie’s initial appearance in My Hero Academia came when Toga impersonated her. Her first main role in the series was during the Remedial Course Arc, where she worked with Bakugo and Todoroki to win over the hearts of children and gain her provisional license.

Her highlight in My Hero Academia, however, came during the Final War Arc. When the heroes were struggling against the Twice Doubles and Hawks was losing against All For One, Camie swooped in with Seiji to save him.

She used her Aurora Sky ability to strengthen Tokoyami’s Dark Shadow, which even hurt All For One. She continued supporting the heroes but was unfortunately consumed by the endless swarm of Twice Doubles. Thankfully, Ochaco arrived in the nick of time and saved her.

In the final standoff against Tomura, Camie and her classmates joined Deku’s efforts, proving instrumental in the heroes’ victory.

While Camie’s final fate was ambiguous after the end of the final war, the Epilogue Arc of My Hero Academia shed more light on it. This revealed how she became a hero and was a sidekick to her classmate, Seiji Shishikura.

Therefore, Camie may not have the most screen time in My Hero Academia, but she is a very memorable part of it. Having achieved her dream and joining the next generation of heroes, her ability and bubbly personality are sure to remain significant.
