Soon after his death, Frieren and her newly appointed apprentice set off on their journey. This was how Heiter tricked Frieren into letting Fern travel with her.
Fern’s Abilities and Powers
Fern’s most powerful ability in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is Zoltraak. This was originally a spell used by demons to kill humans. However, after the Demon King’s death, humans learned to modify it for their needs. Zoltraak involves shooting a large blast of concentrated mana at the opponent. Fern has practiced this since a young age and can shoot multiple blasts in quick succession.
To assist with this, she can also cast her magic very quickly. Frieren has better technique and destructive ability, but Fern can end a battle much faster.
