Twitch streamer Asmongold responds to social media criticism, claiming that “crying and complaining” about him only boosts his popularity.

One of the biggest streamers on Twitch, Zack “Asmongold,” has been under heavy criticism after a shift in content on his streams. The streamer has shifted his content from the usual gaming streams to more political content. The content has not only been called out by community members but also fellow streamers. The streamer has voiced several strong opinions on the political world, which has been criticized by the netizens. However, Zack claims that the complaining and crying of the netizens have only boosted him in popularity.
“I know that people are going to be mad about that, going to be upset about things that I say or whatever. I want to let you know that no amount of crying, complaining, pissing yourself, making Reddit threads, or getting upset about this— the only thing that does is make me more popular.”

Claims they’re only making him stronger

Several OTK members, including Cinna and WillNeff, have voiced their opinions for a change in the organization, as their fellow members have been receiving criticism as well. Although Asmongold has stepped away from his duties at the organization, the founding member is still a part of it. Prominent OTK member Emiru was criticized after Zack made certain political statements. During a stream, Cinna remarked that OTK should cut ties with Asmongold for a change in the organization. Although, Nmplol stated that Asmon does not care.
Asmongold Doubles Down on His Take
Asmon stood firm on his views regarding the criticism from netizens about his content, expressing that he actually appreciates the hate threads. Zack pointed out that many viewers end up watching to see for themselves what Asmon really said, and in the process, they decide to stay because they enjoy the content. He then asked the chat how many of them fit into that category. To which, the chatters seemingly responded with a flood of “me’s.”
“And the reason why is because reasonable people see what these people say, and they watch it to find out for themselves, and they realize that they were lied to, and they decide to stick around. How many of you guys started watching me because you heard something really bad about me, and you said, hey, wait a minute, that’s not necessarily as true as I thought it was? Me? That’s a lot of me’s, huh? So yeah, guys, keep up the hate threats.”
After his stream, the OTK co-founder posted a screenshot on his Discord server that showed HasanAbi and xQc reacting to his clips. The streamer jokingly stated that he had 100K viewers across his channels. Notably, Asmongold had more viewers than xQc and Hasan’s streams.
