You can get the Assassin’s Creed Shadows Claws of Awaji DLC for free only if you had pre-ordered any edition of the game. DLC content is most-often only available for free with the Ultimate or Deluxe editions of a game. However, Ubisoft removed this criteria and made it accessible to all instead. You can get the DLC for free even if you pre-ordered the standard variation.

If you did not pre-order AC Shadows, you will have to purchase the Claws of Awaji DLC when it releases. Currently, no release date has been announced for this expansion. However, Simon Lemay, the Associate Game Director for AC Shadows has confirmed that the expansion will be a 2025 release

Assassin’s Creed Shadows generally has the same pricing scheme for its expansions. If we go by the same valuation, the Claws of Awaji DLC might cost $24.99 without any discounts.

DLC packs for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Valhalla retail at the same price, though various storefronts offer discounts. Given that Claws of Awaji will be a new update, it is unlikely that you will get the DLC at a discounted rate till much later after its release.
