Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to release on March 20, 2025, with the preloading option coming live a couple of days beforehand. This will be available to those who chose to pre-order and allow them to keep the game downloaded and ready to jump in as soon as the global launch happens.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Preload Countdown

Assassin’s Creed Shadows can be preloaded on Steam (PC) from March 17 at 4 pm UTC and on consoles from March 18 at 12 am local time. The accompanying countdown will help PC players keep track of when the preloading option goes live for the platform:

Be advised that preloading on Steam involves unpacking the game upon launch. This can take some time depending upon the hardware available to the player. Many thus prefer to download the game at launch (especially those with high internet speed) instead of preloading it on Steam, as the unpacking and decrypting process can end up taking longer.

How to preload AC Shadows on PC, Xbox, and PS

To preload Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you will need to go to the game’s listing on your chosen platform and select the install/preload option that will be visible after the aforementioned time.
