Battlefield 6 beta showcased a lot of content, including its diverse set of player movements. On top of the basic mechanics that most FPS games have, it includes a few useful movement controls. Some examples include crouch running, front and back dives, and many more. Needless to say, there are a lot of ways you can outplay your enemies or escape sticky situations.

With that said, here is a look at all the movement mechanics in Battlefield 6 beta.

Below are the movement mechanics available in the Battlefield 6 Open Beta phase:

Front and Back Dive

In Battlefield 6 beta, you can dive. When you dive from the front, you land in a prone position. However, if you do it backwards, you land on your back, lying on the ground. However, one of the downsides to this is that your weapon accuracy will be reduced greatly during the animation. This means it’s probably best to wait after the dive is complete before shooting your weapon, unless necessary.

Sliding

One of the movements you can do in the game is sliding. However, you need to ramp up some speed before you can pull it off. This won’t work if you are simply walking or crouching. You will need to run a bit before initiating a slide animation. Additionally, you can slide after doing a jump. Furthermore, you can shoot while sliding, but don’t expect your accuracy to be top-notch, especially while jumping.

Sprinting

Sprinting is one of the common movement mechanics in most FPS games, including Battlefield 6 beta. However, you only have the regular sprint in this game. This means you don’t have the quick burst of speed from the tactical or traversal sprint. One thing to keep in mind is that there is no omnidirectional movement in here. Additionally, you can’t sprint sideways, so you need to be moving forward.

Combat Roll

The Combat Roll can be a bit disorienting if you are not used to the animation. When jumping off a window or from a high ground, your character will roll on the ground upon landing. It’s a similar mechanic to Battlefield 5. During the animation, you won’t be able to shoot your weapon.

Crouch Running

You can crouch in the game, which reduces your movement speed. But you can also run while crouching, which is much faster but not as fast as sprinting while standing up. It’s a good way to move around fast behind short barricades or walls.

How to Slide in Battlefield 6

Unlike the previous titles, Battlefield 6 features a slide mechanic. However, not everyone might be familiar with how to use it. All you have to do is press “C” on your keyboard twice to initiate a slide animation.

You can only slide for a brief distance. However, you can use it on other mechanics, like jumping. Just keep in mind that your accuracy will be affected while doing these actions.
