Embark on a magical journey in Obsidian Entertainment’s newest title, Avowed. This game lets you explore anywhere from the Dawnshore plains to the Solace mountains.
Throughout this journey, players can acquire a variety of items and weapons to aid them in this journey. These items can be acquired via quests, chests, and exploring the entire world. There are various items that can benefit you immensely if acquired early in the game. Here are some of the best early game items you can get in Avowed.
Caeroc’s Pride
This handgun can be found relatively early in the game. You can acquire this pistol from defeating the Tempestuous Luandi bounty target. This weapon becomes extremely useful due to its lightning nature.
You can use this lightning property to easily clear any enemies grouped together near any wet surfaces. Additionally, this item can be found in Dawnshore, making it easily accessible at the start of the game.
Unflinching Duty Shield
This shield will serve all your blocking (and dodging) needs at the start of the game. This shield is very easy to obtain and hard to miss. Firstly, you obtain this shield after defeating the Dreamthrall Bear boss. Secondly, it gives you a 30-point bonus to your Max Stamina. And lastly, it gives you a 10% dodge chance as well.
So, all the above factors make this trusty shield serve all your defensive needs in the early game.
Last Light of Day
You have a shield; now pair it with a good sword, and you’re ready to hack and slash any unfortunate monster that blocks your path. The Last Light of Day is a good sword you can obtain by heading to the Pilgrim’s Path location on the map. Here, you can start the Dawntreader side quest.
Near the end of the sidequest, you must fight Sargamis. Upon defeating him, loot his body to obtain this majestic sword. Within the sword dwells the power of fire. So, using this power, you can burn away some obstacles and enemies alike. Lastly, this sword also heals back your health every time you kill an enemy. This makes it a really good choice for fighting against hordes of enemies.
Anextil’s Grimoire
This grimoire can be found on the body of a Pyromancer who blows himself up as you approach him. His body is found at Ivona’s Threshold. However, do note that you will need to invest some points into the Wizard skill tree to use this grimoire to its full potential.
This grimoire in particular is good because it reduces ability cost and cooldowns. Moreover, it gives us access to a wide variety of spells such as Fan of Flames, Arcane Veil, Grimoire Snap, and Missile Salvo. Any budding magician will surely find these spells helpful on their journey.
