Enhanced Augur is a significant step up in terms of difficulty compared to its regular variant. Not only does the Enhanced Nightlord get access to new attacks in its second phase, but 8it also inflicts Sleep way faster, which can often wipe the entire party of Nightfarers in a single attack. And much like the regular Augur, the enhanced variant is a tricky Nightlord to tackle with melee characters. While the boss does drop to the ground more often compared to its regular variant, its increased agility makes it quite difficult to get a full melee combo off. However, with the right set of Relics, you can get Nightfarers like Raider to work really well against Augur.

Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Raider build for Enhanced Augur in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Enhanced Augur, much like the regular variant, is weak to Lightning. However, it’s also incredibly weak to physical damage, which is quite useful for melee characters. Furthermore, even if you don’t have access to Lightning, you can use affinities like Bleed or Frost to deal damage to the Nightlord. Do note that in the second phase, Augur will gain immunity to Frost. While Lightning is still useful in the second phase, it won’t stagger the boss. Instead, Lightning will only help apply defense down, occasionally. For the best Raider build, we’re going to focus on two things primarily – improved affinity damage and improved survivability.

Increasing survivability will help Raider tank most of Augur’s regular attacks, and even survive the “sleep bomb.” Additionally, we’re using the Dark Fulghor Relic to enhance the affinity damage on Raider’s starting armament. However, you can use a different Relic to boost the Nightfarer’s physical damage if you don’t want to use affinity attacks.

Here are some tips that will help you use the best Raider build more efficiently against Augur:

  • With Raider, your primary objective is to serve as a wall between your allies and the Nightlord, while also damaging the boss’s poise. Although using a single armament is effective, power-stancing two Colossal Weapons is arguably the easier way to break an enemy’s stance. As such, we recommend power-stancing over two-handing with Raider.
  • As for passives, you want to pick up maximum HP increased, increased stance-breaking, increased damage for using two armaments, and increased stamina recovery.
  • Against Augur, you want to stay as close to the Nightlord as possible, at all times. Additionally, make sure to use mostly jump attacks. We also recommend grabbing at least one Starlight Shard to refill your FP, which will help you use Chilling Mist for longer.
  • In the second phase, make sure to save your Ultimate Art for the “sleep bomb, and dive combo. Additionally, you can also use Raider’s charged Character Skill to knock the boss out of its attacks.

Additional Notes

While we have used Caligo’s Relic to get access to Chilling Mist and Frostbite-related perks, it’s not a necessity. If you have a better Relic that either increases Colossal Weapon damage or grants your starting armament Lightning affinity, we recommend using that instead.
