Gladius, Beast of Night, aka Tricephalos, isn’t a particularly challenging Nightlord in Elden Ring Nightreign. While the regular version of the Nightlord isn’t all that menacing, the same cannot be said about its Everdark variant. Much like the previous Enhanced Nightlords, Enhanced Tricephalos comes with not only a significant attribute buff but also new attacks.

Although the boss is technically not as difficult as Enhanced Gaping Jaw or Enhanced Darkdrift Knight, it’s still a substantial bump in challenge compared to the regular Nightlords. While you can technically defeat the boss using any of the Nightfarers, Raider is arguably the best and safest choice here.

However, to make Raider viable against Enhanced Tricephalos, you will need to equip him with powerful Relics. Here’s a comprehensive guide on the best Raider build for the Enhanced Tricephalos in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Raider is all about Strength and poise damage, and that’s precisely what we are going to focus on with this build. Enhanced Tricephalos, much like its regular counterpart, is easily poise-broken with jump and charged attacks. As such, with this build, we’re going to focus on increasing Raider’s Colossal Weapon damage.

Furthermore, we’re also focusing on increasing Raider’s survivability, which will help with the opening few minutes of the Expedition. In addition to that, we’re also going to use Raider’s starting weapon for the entire duration of the Expedition. And to make the weapon viable against Tricephalos, we’re going to use a Holy Relic.

Essentially, we’re going to focus on increasing Raider’s strength and survivability. That way, this build will not only stand the test of time for co-op sessions, but will also be viable for solo play.

Here are some tips that will help you use the best Raider build against the Enhanced Tricephalos:

  • Enhanced Tricephalos, much like its regular version, is incredibly susceptible to poise-break, especially with “defense down” applied. As such, being the Raider, your job will be to capitalize on this weakness, using the Holy Colossal Weapon.
  • Due to the Nightlord’s agility, it might be difficult to land jump attacks on it consistently. As such, we recommend using a single Colossal Weapon and two-handing it. In addition to that, make sure to pick up passives that increase attack power for two-handing weapons.
  • Much like any other Nightlord that is not Caligo or Heolstor, Gladius is extremely weak to Frostbite. This is where Fissure in the Fog’s Relic and Chilling Mist is going to help you. Make sure to bring at least one Starlight Shard to help you use Chilling Mist multiple times during the battle.
  • Once Tricephalos has been divided into three, try to divert its attention towards you. Since we’re using Augur’s Relic, Raider will have plenty of HP to tank the Nightlord’s attacks. Additionally, getting in between attacks is a great way to charge the Raider’s Character Skill.

Additional Notes

You can also swap Edge of Order with another Relic that grants you Holy from the start. However, outside of Remembrances and Nightlords, Relics are RNG in Nightreign, and getting a Holy Relic can be quite difficult.

Apart from Edge of Order, there’s no other Relic that guarantees Holy damage right from the get-go. Furthermore, you can also choose not to use a Holy Relic. Instead, you can get Holy weapons from overworld bosses, Shifting Earth, and also from dungeons. However, weapon drops are also RNG-based and don’t guarantee a Holy weapon on every run.
