505 Games recently released an Announcement Trailer for Blades of Fire with a 2025 release date. Here’s everything you need to know about it.

We are sure that you have seen many games that let you craft your own weapons and gear. However, 505’s new title, Blades of Fire adds a new twist to this formula by making you the only character who can build weapons in the game’s world. It is a hack-and-slash fantasy game that will throw you into a dark and gloomy world where you have an evil queen. It might sound like a Disney movie in theory, but the gameplay and the visuals of the game say otherwise.
The release date along with some gameplay and story bits was revealed in the recently released gameplay trailer. So, in this article, we will tell you everything about it.
Blades of Fire Trailer Breakdown
In the trailer, we see you will take the protagonist role, Aran de Lira, the only person in the world who can forge weapons. You may ask why. Well, from what we know, the Evil Queen Nerea has turned every weapon into stone except her army’s. She is the main antagonist in the game, and your primary objective will be to take her down.
Additionally, we saw Aran forging a sword in the trailer along with some clips of the enemies and gameplay. It looked like the gameplay was going to be similar to God of War, with a quite aggressive combat style and a lot of enemy variety. The most interesting aspect of the gameplay so far is the forge system.
It will enable you to craft various weapons by combining alloys, blades, hilts, and runes. This feature is complemented by the different enemy types because some of them can only be defeated by specific weapons.
Blades of Fire Release Date

If that sounds interesting, you would be happy to know—you won’t have to wait too long to play Blades of Fire. We say that because the announcement trailer also reveals the release date of the game, which is May 22, 2025.
Above all, MercurySteam developed the game. You might also know them for making Castlevania: Lords of Shadows. However, despite the developer’s name, Blades of Fire won’t be available on Steam at launch because 505Games will publish it as an Epic Games exclusive.
Conclusion
So, if you are looking for an action-packed adventure in a Dark Fantasy land with monsters that seem to be straight out of a Souls game, then you might want to try Blades of Fire out.
