Blue Prince: Can You Keep Items After Calling It a Day?

Learn the different methods to keep items even after calling it a day, as they can make your future runs easier in Blue Prince. 

Blue Prince is a puzzle mystery game featuring rogue-like mechanics, where your progress resets each day. Although the game features several permanent additions and upgrades, the items you collect during your run reset for each day. After calling it a day, you will start a new day with an empty inventory, losing all items from your previous run.

Although this reset mechanic is the core of the gameplay, there are a few methods that defy this rule. So, to answer the question, you cannot keep all your inventory items after calling it a day, generally. However, Blue Prince offers a few clever ways to retain certain items from your inventory and carry them over to the next day.

How To Keep Items After Calling It a Day in Blue Prince

There are two methods that allow you to carry items over to the next day in Blue Prince:

1) Coat Check

It is one of the common rooms that you draft in your estate. It provides a unique effect, allowing you to check and retrieve one chosen item from your inventory. By placing an item in the Coat Check before ending a day, you can retrieve it later by drafting the room on another day.

This can be highly beneficial if you want to save valuable items or special keys, such as the Diary Key or the Vault Keys. It also helps you to store any contraptions crafted in the Workshop. However, the only drawback is that retrieving an item requires you to draft the Coat Check again, which can sometimes become challenging due to the game’s unpredictable RNG mechanics. 

2) Moon Pendant 

While the Coat Check only allows you to retain one item, the Moon Pendant increases the count to two. The Moon Pendant is a special, luxurious item purchased from the Showroom. If the Moon Pendant is in your inventory when you call the day, it retains two items from your inventory for the next day. However, the trade-off is that you cannot choose which items you want to carry over, as it is entirely random.  

Bonus Tip: In addition to items, you can also preserve your Coins and Gems using the Freezer. The room freezes your account upon entering, allowing you to start the next day with your current balance of Gems and Coins, preventing the resources from resetting.
