There isn’t any support for multiplayer in Blue Prince. The game is a single-player experience where you take on the role of Simon. You’ve just received a letter that informs you about a huge mansion that you could possibly inherit from a distant relative. However, to make the inheritance final, you’ll need to find the hidden 46th room in the estate. That’s the premise of the game, and you’ll have to solve every puzzle along the way alone. In this piece, we’ll take a more detailed look at the lack of multiplayer in the game.

Why Is There No Multiplayer in Blue Prince?

While there’s no official word on why the game doesn’t have a multiplayer mode, it’s possible the developers wanted to make it an exclusively single-player experience. All of the gameplay mechanics revolve around Simon. Also, the narrative wouldn’t have supported the inclusion of additional players, as Simon is the one who must find room number 46 to claim the Mt. Holly estate. Also, the key mechanics of the game revolve around the limited number of footsteps that the protagonist can take each day. This couldn’t have worked with multiple players exploring the mansion.

There doesn’t seem to be any intention of a possible multiplayer mode in the future. However, Raw Fury hasn’t explicitly confirmed this yet. Owing to the immense popularity of the game, the publisher might decide to implement such a mode later on. However, the chances seem slim, as they would need to severely alter many parts of Blue Prince to fit a multiplayer mode.

Does Blue Prince Have a Co-op Mode?

Blue Prince doesn’t have a co-op mode at the moment. Again, similar to multiplayer, a co-op mode would be out of place considering the game’s narrative. Similarly, developers would have to extensively rebalance several parts of the game to support two or more players coming together inside the huge mansion.
