Players who want to main Amon in Borderlands 4 should focus on his Cybernetic skill tree (green) mixed with some elemental damage. The Crucible is the core Forgeskill of said tab, and the build given below is based around it. Furthermore, players should also focus on increasing the output damage with Detonations and suppressing the enemies with contact Forgedrone attacks, as well as prioritizing shield regeneration since the Berserk Vault Hunter will be leading the battles and inviting damage on himself.

With that said, let’s take a look at the Crucible build for Amon in Borderlands 4, including the best skills, weapons, and specialization options.

Pros and Cons of the Amon Crucible Build in Borderlands 4

Pros

The Crucible Amon Build is used for isolating and suppressing single targets with burst damage. In addition to that, it also comes with extensive crowd control abilities, which will be crucial in Borderlands 4‘s waves of enemies, especially if you are playing solo. Lastly, it also features elemental damage, which will make the difference between winning and losing against many foes.

Cons

Crucible Amon does not have a lot of weaknesses. The build excels at what it aims to do and does not show many cracks. However, if you want to invest your points into this build, then you must keep in mind that despite Amon being a brawler, this is not a melee build. Other than that, you will also face some limitations when it comes to your health regeneration abilities.

Augment

  • Endless War

Endless War is an augment, and it is part of the Cybernetics Skill Tree for Amon in Borderlands 4. It has a cooldown of only two seconds, and it enables you to use a game mechanic named Priming and Detonating. Once the Forgeknight primes an enemy, it takes more gun damage, and if he detonates it, a forgeaxe spawns and targets nearby enemies.

Capstone

  • Snowmaul

With the Snowmaul Capstone, Amon can throw a twinned Forgehammer that deals cryo damage on impact to nearby enemies. It also ricochets between up to three other foes in proximity. In addition to that, if there are no enemies to ricochet to, then the hammer stays on for a little longer and deals additional damage. Each Detonation gives ricochets more time.

Weapons

You can use any weapon of your choice with Amon, especially close-ranged. However, keep in mind that with the Crucible build, your primary focus will be to summon as many Forgedrones as possible. Thus, we recommend going with an SMG or a Shotgun. The Rainbow Vomit is a good starting weapon for this build because of its elemental damage. You can get it through the A Lot to Process mission. As for the SMG, we suggest going with the ‘Ohm I Got’ since it gives you Shock damage.

Repkit

For this particular build, you should look for Repkits with Ordnance Cooldown, Elemental Damage, and Lifesteal. They are ideal for this particular build. You will need them, especially Lifesteal, to balance the setup and add more endurance to the Vault Hunter.

Shields

Since the Crucible build does not focus on survival ability or tanky elements too much, you have to make sure that you get shields that give you damage reduction. But still, you can use any other shield as well if you fancy it. Furthermore, you can also choose the Weatherproof Sparky shield because of its regeneration and shock damage.

Class Mod

Crucible Amon does not really rely on Class Mods that much. However, if you want to incorporate some into the build, then look for the ones that can boost the following:

  • Elemental Damage
  • Critical Damage
  • Action Skill Cooldown

Ordnance

For Ordnance, we highly recommend getting a throwing knife with the damage amp payload. It will enhance the damage your enemies receive from the throwing knife.

Firmware Gear-Set

Of course, in Borderlands 4, you will get a few options when it comes to Firmware, but for this build, we recommend the ones given below.

Baker (3 Pieces)

  • +10% Increased Shield Capacity
  • +15% Reduced Repkit Cooldown
  • +25% increase to Maximum Health

Gadget Ahoy (1 Piece)

  • +15% Reduced Ordnance Cooldown

GOOJFC (1 Piece)

  • +10% Increased Rate of the Action Skill Cooldown

Players should prioritize Brute and Survivor specialization for Crucible Amon. Brute will increase your gun damage further, which is beneficial for this ranged setup. Additionally, Survivor is also equally important since it will balance the build-out by providing Health and Shield enhancements.
