Want to replay a quest you just played through in Monster Hunter Wilds? Our guide explains whether replaying a quest is even possible

You can replay only some of the quests in Monster Hunter Wilds, but none of the ones in the main campaign. In the following piece, we’ll take a look at the different types of quests available in the game and which of those you can play multiple times.
What Are the Different Types of Quests Available in Monster Hunter Wilds?

The game offers you three distinct types of quests, which include:
- Assignments: These are the main story missions that you unlock as you progress throughout the campaign. There are three chapters to the main story, and each chapter will have multiple Assignments for you to complete to move the narrative forward. These Assignments are not repeatable, which means you can only play these quests once throughout any one run of the game.
- Side Quests: Apart from the main story missions, you will also unlock various side quests as you progress through the game and earn higher Hunter Ranks. These quests may send you to fight some of the most dangerous monsters or simply need you to catch a fish to complete. Regardless of the objective you have to complete, side quests are also content that you won’t be able to replay. Find out about all the side quests you can complete in the game.
- Optional Quests: These are different from side quests since they always task you with hunting or slaying specific monsters. You can unlock optional quests by completing Assignments and side quests as you progress through the title. Optional quests are the only missions that you can play as many times as you wish. So, you can use these quests to farm materials or simply challenge yourself to tough monster fights on High Rank.
We can sum up by saying that Assignments and side quests cannot be replayed in the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series. However, you can play optional quests as many times as you want.
How Can You Start an Optional Quest?

To begin optional quests, you have to meet specific requirements the first time around. These can include reaching a specific Hunter Rank and completing specific Assignments (story missions). Go through our detailed list of all the optional quests in the game to understand what the specific requirements are for each one.
After you unlock any optional quest, you can start it by talking to Alma at any of the base camps. Alternatively, you can also choose the optional quest you want to undertake from the Pop-up Camp.
