After a wave of criticism on social media, Connor “CDawgVA” and the Trash Taste podcast have addressed the situation. After HasanAbi’s recent appearance on the Trash Taste podcast, several viewers criticized the show. Meanwhile, some netizens also accused the hosts of deleting comments on their video. The Trash Taste team responded to the backlash and pinned a comment on the video stating that they have never deleted any comments. Connor also commented on the situation on Reddit and wrote:

The Trash Taste podcast is a weekly podcast that hosts several guests and host discussions mostly related to anime. The channel currently has over 1.66M subscribers, with the Hasan Piker video gaining over 330K views. The podcast is co-hosted by CDawgVA alongside The Anime Man and Gigguk.
The show has previously hosted several popular internet personalities including PewDiePie and Ludwig. The podcast received criticism for bringing on Hasan, given his political background. However, this wasn’t the streamer’s first time on the show. Hasan had previously appeared on the channel in April 2023, but did not receive any criticism back then.
HasanAbi Responds to Backlash on the Trash Taste Podcast
After reading some of the comments on his video with the Trash Taste team, Hasan called out the netizens. He claimed that the internet was out of touch and was brigading against him. The streamer then asked his viewers to “actively counter” the brigade. The video on YouTube had a dislike ratio of over 49 percent and currently has over 17K likes.
“The brigade is on folks. Get in and actively counter the brigade.”
HasanAbi is actively criticized by several netizens, including Ethan Klein, who posted a “content nuke” video. The streamer also addressed a fan comment that called him “out of touch.” He stated that the commenter made assumptions that Hasan was out of touch because the expected retaliation does not match the reality. Hasan argued that he was not out of touch because several political journalist cover him in a positive way.
“The assumption that you as a random commenter is not out of touch, but I am because what you expect in terms of like retaliation towards someone like myself is not matching the reality is hilarious.”
