Clair Obscur Expedition 33 takes pride in its intricate turn-based combat mechanics, letting you explore it to the fullest in intense boss battles, which are plentiful. You get to test your mettle and mastery of the combat against some of the toughest enemies, but no amount of prep prepares you to face the Chromatic Hexga.
Built like a giant boulder, the Chromatic Hexga is one of the tougher enemies you face in the game. The boss is not only a boulder visually, but also mechanically. Where To Find the Chromatic Hexga in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
If you’ve not stumbled across the Chromatic Hexga yet, you will find this boss in Act 2 of Clair Obscur Expedition 33. You unlock Esquie’s swimming ability in this portion of the game, which you can then use to swim to the Stone Wave Cliffs Cave. Swim east from the Stone Wave Cliffs region of the game to find this cave. Follow the road up the beach and take a left from the fork to find the Chromatic Hexga.
How To Beat the Chromatic Hexga in Clair Obscur Expedition 33

The Chromatic Hexga boss is incredibly resistant to fire and will take no damage at all from this element. Furthermore, it also brings a shield with it that makes it nigh-invincible. If you wish to have any chance at beating the boss, you first need to remove the shield. Maelle is the perfect shield-breaker character, and her Breaking Rules ability should help you break past the shield.
Once the shield is off, use free aim to aim for the large glowing crystals on the boss’ body. These are weak spots, and shooting them will take away a chunk of HP. After this, we will target the boss using its weakness — ice. Use Ice-based weapons and attacks to chip away at its HP and clinch victory.
