Here is everything you need to know about Days Gone Remastered, announced at PlayStation February 2025 State of Play.
The PlayStation’s February 2025 State of Play showcase has announced that Bend Studio’s post-apocalyptic action horror game Days Gone is getting a current-gen remaster. Days Gone Remastered becomes the limelight of the showcase, offering enhancements and new content for the 2019 title.
In Days Gone, players take up the role of a drifter and bounty hunter Deacon St. John, also known as ‘Deek’. Explore the Broken Road, overrun with deadly creatures called ‘Freakers’, as he searches for his wife, Sarah. Days Gone Remastered is set to launch on April 25, 2025, for PS5.

Days Gone Remastered New Enhancements
While the original Days Gone already featured fluid mechanics and high-quality visuals, the Remaster improves every aspect and makes the game look better than ever, especially on PS5 Pro. With enhanced graphical fidelity, improved lighting, and shadow quality, the game delivers a visually stunning experience, especially in the Quality mode. The remaster also introduces Tempest 3D Audio, and VRR support, ensuring an immersive gameplay experience.
Moreover, the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers further enhance the gameplay. Whether you’re battling massive hordes using your wide arsenal or riding through dirt roads in dynamic weather conditions—such as rain, thunder, or snow—every action in the open world feels more responsive than before.
In addition, the remaster also includes new accessibility features, including High Contrast mode, Game Speed, UI Narration, Collectible Audio Cues, Controller Remapping, and a Field of View slider.
Days Gone Remastered New Content and Modes
Beyond technical upgrades and enhancements, the remaster introduces new content and additional modes for both new and returning players. Horde Assault Mode is a survival arcade mode where players face even larger hordes alongside enemies like Marauders, Breakers, and Reachers. Survive as long as possible in locations such as Cascade, Belknap, Lost Lake, and Crater Lake.
If you are up for a greater challenge, suit yourself with the new Permadeath mode. Since dying means starting over from the beginning, this mode pushes your survival skills to the limit.
In addition to these, the remaster will also feature Speedrun mode, Enhanced Photo Mode, and a new Trophy pack.
Days Gone Remastered Price and Preorder Rewards
Days Gone Remastered is launching for PS5 on April 25, 2025, priced at $49.99. Players who own the original game can upgrade to the remastered version for $10. As for PC players, the Broken Road DLC—which includes the new modes, accessibility features, and DualSense haptic support—will be available separately for $10. Players who don’t own the base game must purchase both the game and DLC to access these contents.
Pre-ordering the remaster unlocks new PSN avatars and several early-game items to maximize your survival on the broken road for the first few hours.
The Pre-order bonuses are:
- PSN Avatars: Deacon, Sarah, Boozer, Rikki, Jack, Rager, Nero, Horde
- Early Unlocks: Drifter Crossbow, Monkey Wrench Skill, Nitrous Upgrade 1, Shroud Upgrade 1, Gas Tank Upgrade 1
Despite receiving mixed reviews at the launch, Days Gone gained a dedicated fanbase over time, with many hoping for a sequel. While a remastered version was not exactly what fans expected, it signals that Sony and Bend Studio haven’t abandoned the franchise. Depending on the remaster’s reception, they may perhaps release the highly sought-after Days Gone sequel in the future.
