MrBeast, currently the most subscribed YouTuber, has debunked rumors that Disney purchased his official channel.
James Stephen “Jimmy” Donaldson, better known as “MrBeast,” is a prominent figure in the content creation and YouTube space. The Wichita, Kansas native is currently the most subscribed YouTuber, with a staggering 323 million subscribers on his official channel.
Being such a well-known personality, MrBeast has seen his fair share of rumors, with a recent one alleging that he sold his channel to Disney. While this rumor went viral on social media, it originated from a 17-second clip from the March 4, 2024, episode of the Sam and Colby podcast. In it, Graham Stephen claimed that Disney paid $5 billion for MrBeast’s channel. To this, Stephen’s associate insisted that the deal got leaked, stating:
“MrBeast sold his channel to Disney. $5 billion! (Graham Stephen’s associate says, ‘It got leaked.’) Yes, it’s confirmed.”
MrBeast eventually responded to the viral claims, clarifying that Disney does not own any part of his YouTube channel. Here’s what he tweeted on March 4, 2024:
“Disney does not own any part of my channel.”
Unfortunately, things did not stop there, as on the same day, netizens called out Jimmy for deleting a tweet criticizing US Representative Nancy Pelosi’s stock market trades. Responding to those who claimed Pelosi had “control over him,” the 26-year-old once again commented on rumors that Disney bought his YouTube empire, tweeting:
“First, I sold my channel to Disney and now Pelosi has control over me? The conspiracies are wild recently. No idea who this dude is/no agency tells me what I can or can’t say. For the record, I don’t think she/others should be able to trade stock while knowing classified information. It’s not even that crazy of an opinion lol.”
Recent Controversy Surrounding MrBeast Explored
On October 27, 2024, Rosanna Pansino and DogPack404 uploaded a 22-minute video, in which they accused MrBeast of recommending a contentious anime to former crew member Ava Kris Tyson. In the YouTube video, MrBeast KNEW All Along… (1,000+ Leaked Messages), DogPack404 detailed Jimmy’s alleged conversation with Tyson, dated June 2021, as follows:
“In June of 2021, he sends a message of an anime called Higehiro, says, ‘I bet Chris would love this show.’ (Rosanna Pansino asks, ‘What’s this show about?’) Well, it’s interesting that you asked because the show is about a romantic relationship between a 26-year-old salaryman and a 17-year-old high school runaway. It’s well-known online to be a controversial anime, and this anime is based on even more explicit novels that go into the details of this romantic relationship between an adult and an underage girl.”
