Find out whether Arrowhead Game Studios’ 2024 massive multiplayer shooter Helldivers 2 feature crossplay or not.
Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2, released on PC and PS5, is one of the best multiplayer titles of 2024. It won numerous accolades, including the Best Ongoing Game and Best Multiplayer Game awards at the The Game Awards 2024. Since the PvE shooter title is specifically designed for co-op play, it lacks a dedicated single-player campaign.
There is nothing more fun than teaming up with fellow Helldivers (players) and obliterating a swarm of alien creatures. If you’re wondering whether cross-platform play is possible, the answer is yes—Helldivers 2 supports full crossplay between PC and PS5, allowing players from PC to play with PS5 and vice versa. You can also turn off crossplay by heading to the Gameplay tab in the Options menu.

How To Invite Friends in Helldivers 2?
To play with friends, you’ll need to invite them before matchmaking. This can be done simply with an invite code, similar to most multiplayer titles. Here is how it works:
- Launch the Game and open the social menu.
- Navigate to the Friend Code option at the bottom to Generate the 8-digit code.
- Share the code with your friends and squadmates.
- Ask them to enter the 8-digit code at the Search option found at the top of the social menu and send you a friend request.
- Once you receive the request, accept it to add them to your social options.
- Now, invite them to your party and kick some aliens together.
Does Helldivers 2 Support Cross Progression?

There will probably be cross progression sometime in the future. We didn't think enough people would be interested so we decided to cut it – but now it seems there's a significant part of the audience that is playing on both platforms.
Although Helldivers 2 includes full crossplay, the multiplayer title doesn’t include cross-progression or cross-save at the time of writing. However, Johan Pilestedt, the CCO of Arrowhead and the Creative Director of Helldivers 2 addressed the following on his X account.
‘There will probably be cross progression sometime in the future. We didn’t think enough people would be interested so we decided to cut it – but now it seems there’s a significant part of the audience that is playing on both platforms.’
This suggests that Helldivers 2 may receive cross-progression in a future update.
