Buckle up as you finally encounter the final boss, King K. Rool, in Donkey Kong Bananza, at the core of the planet, and reign victorious.

Donkey Kong Bananza sets you out on an adventure to travel through the multiple layers of the planet and reach the planet’s core. This is where the mysterious energy source, termed Bananergy, is buried deep, which will grant a wish. Through the game, you are tasked to reach it before the evil, corrupt king does. At the end, you will finally face off against King K. Rool.
In this article, we will look at how to beat King K. Rool in Donkey Kong Bananza.
Beat King K. Rool in Donkey Kong Bananza
Upon encountering King K. Rool, a cutscene triggers, showing him having his wish finally granted and getting a major power-up. After the cut scene, we are tasked with defeating King K. Rool. This battle will have multiple phases where you will need to put all the different Bananza transformations to good use and retrieve the Banandium Root.
Phase 1
For the first phase, King K. Rool will resort to using just one primary attack. This is a long-range attack that, when in close proximity, will be easy to avoid. The boss will use a cannon launcher to shoot huge projectiles in your path. Depending upon whether you wish to play this phase in close or far range, the strategies can differ.
Far-Range Battle

For this, you can make use of two transformations, namely Kong and Elephant. When the boss shoots a projectile towards you, transform into the Kong Bananza form, hold your attack to charge it, and smash the projectile once it reaches close. This will rebound the projectile and send it straight back to the boss, stunning it.
At the same time, it will cause the nearby terrain to scatter. Now use your elephant Bananza form and inhale the debris with the time you have brought. Now, with the stored debris, use the ‘Trunk Chunk’ feature and shoot the debris at the boss. Repeat until all your stored inventory is depleted. Repeat this till you defeat the boss.
Close-Ranged Battle

For this method, you can resort to using the Zebra and Kong forms. Firstly, transform into the zebra bananza form and dash forward towards the boss at full speed. This form allows you to cover more distance quickly and possibly avoid being hit by the boss if quick enough. Once in close proximity, transform into the Kong Bananza form.
Now, lay out as much damage as you can when near. The boss will try to hit you by swinging the cannon in your direction. If you hit him quickly enough, it leaves him temporarily staggered, giving you more time to inflict as much damage as you can.
Phase 2

Once close to half its health bar, it will create some distance by jumping far away. For this phase, he will begin to summon more weapons with his hands. The best method to counter this is by using the Zerba and Kong combination. During the attacks, more gold debris will scatter all around the place. You can also choose to use the Elephant transformation to store up and use it against the boss.
Once you bring its health down to zero, phase two will end, with the boss lying knocked out. The cutscene will trigger where DK and Pauline ask for their wish, but are greeted with a horde of bananas pushing them through the layers of the planet all the way to the other side.
Phase 3

The game plays a neat trick on us, showing us that the game is over by rolling out some end credits, but it then shows King K. Rool waking up and chasing us. In this phase, the boss will once again try throwing projectiles at us from each side of your golden banana base. Our method of countering involves grabbing the gold banana with our Kong Bananza transformation and hurling it towards King K. Rool.
After striking him thrice, the perspective changes, and King K. Rool will try striking us from above. Avoid the purple rings that highlight the base. He will then return to the base level, where we need to throw the golden bananas at him. This will repeat two more times, each time progressively shrinking the base you stand on.

For the third time, King K. Rool will shrink your golden banana base to the bare minimum. Once again, he will lower the level of your base and try to strike at you. Continue throwing the golden bananas at him until you finally lay waste to him. This will bring an end to the battle, triggering a cutscene.
