FromSoftware’s latest title, Elden Ring Nightreign, launched on May 30, 2025, on all major platforms, including PC, Xbox Series S/X, and PS5. The game is set in an altered world of Limgrave called Limveld, where you will have to battle many bosses and the Nightlords. On the PS5, you can play Elden Ring Nightreign in two modes: Quality and Framerate.

The Quality mode delivers highly detailed and crisp visuals but runs at a 30 – 40 FPS performance. On the other hand, the Framerate mode runs the game at a smooth 60 FPS but at the cost of visual fidelity. Both the graphics and HDR settings can dramatically change the visuals of the Limveld in Elden Ring Nightreign. Therefore, you must apply the settings correctly, which are discussed below:

Visual Quality Settings

Here are the pros and cons of each visual quality setting in PS5:

  • Quality Mode: It offers a higher visual fidelity with sharper graphics and an overall clearer image. There are also fewer pop-ins when moving through the world of Limveld. However, these graphical advantages come at the cost of framerate, which is limited to 30 – 40 FPS.
  • Framerate Mode: This mode delivers an ultra-smooth 60 FPS gameplay experience, which can be critical in multiplayer titles like this. However, the overall image can be a bit grainy with a loss in detail levels. Also, you will probably see more pop-ins, especially shadow pop-ins on vegetation.

Since Framerate mode is the only way of getting 60 FPS, which is critical in multiplayer games like Elden Ring Nightreign, you should consider playing the game in this mode only.

HDR Settings

Enabling HDR can dramatically boost the contrast ratio, giving you a more lively experience. The highlights will look brighter, while the dim areas will appear properly dim. However, you will need to do a manual setup in the PS5 settings to achieve the best results. You will also need a capable HDR TV for this.
