The weapons or items you choose when going up against the dreaded Night Lords in Elden Ring Nightreign can have a big impact on the outcome of the battle. Every boss has certain weaknesses to elements. Finding out these weaknesses and exploiting them is a great way to substantially increase damage to the tough foes. In some cases, inflicting bosses with damage that they’re weak to can stagger them easily, paving the way for you to unleash a flurry of blows without repercussion.

Lightning damage is one of the damage types in the game that certain enemies may be weak to. So, you’ll need to have such weapons in your inventory to take advantage of these weaknesses. In this guide, we’ll explore how you can get your hands on Lightning weapons in Elden Ring Nightreign.

The Limveld map of Elden Ring Nightreign is different for different players. The items and locations on the map are randomly generated in each instance. So, the exact spot where we discover a weapon won’t be the same place where you find that same weapon. This can make it virtually impossible to point to specific locations where you’ll discover lightning weapons or items.

However, the game’s map has certain icons that indicate where these weapons could be. For lightning weapons, look for the icon in the image above. Don’t get confused between lightning and holy weapons, since both have quite similar icons. However, the lightning icon has a blade with electric bolts coming out of it.

Reach the location with the lightning icon. Usually, you’ll find a mini-boss there that’ll drop a weapon with the said elemental affinity. In some cases, you might find the weapon inside a chest in the marked spot. You might also find lightning-based spells or incantations while exploring the world during expeditions. These are often consumable one-time-use items that inflict the enemy with lightning damage.

Lightning weapons do additional damage to all enemies in general. However, some of the enemies who are weak to the affinity will take increased damage from lightning weapons and items. When you’re facing Night Lords Maris and Fulghor, you should prioritize the use of lightning weapons. Both of these bosses are weak to this affinity.

In the case of the Fulghor fight, using lightning weapons can easily stagger the enemy and even skip a phase that leads to one of its most devastating attacks. As for the Maris fight, this boss simply takes more damage when you use lightning-based attacks. However, since Maris stays in the air most of the time, we recommend arming yourself with a lightning spell. This will allow you to easily hit the foe even when they are at long range.
