You have to complete the Oldest Gaol while on an expedition to earn the Old Gaol trophy. However, there is no way of figuring out which Gaol counts as the Oldest Gaol—at least not from the outside. Moreover, the game also doesn’t explain directly what counts as the Oldest Gaol.

The only way you can verify whether the Evergaol counts as the Oldest Gaol is to actually enter it. Within every Evergaol, you will encounter a boss enemy you have to fight and defeat.

How To Find the Oldest Gaol in Elden Ring Nightreign

You must enter Evergaols using Stonesword keys. Upon entering, a random boss will spawn, prompting you to fight and defeat it (or die). However, not every boss counts for the purpose of this trophy. There are at least three confirmed bosses that can let you earn this achievement. These are:

  • Godskin Duo
  • Death Rite Bird
  • Ancient Dragon

If you defeat any of these three and complete the Gaol, the achievement should be yours. Additionally, you will also gain legendary upgrades. You should pick the reward of 30,000 runes when given the option, as it will likely allow you to level up at least once.

This is more than the standard reward of 10,000 or 20,000 runes you get upon completing an Evergaol. However, to balance this out, the Oldest Gaol has a very rare spawn rate. You might have to do a lot of runs before one appears.

That was everything to know about the Oldest Gaol and earning the Old Gaol trophy in Elden Ring Nightreign.
