Ethan Klein might be suing a group of Reddit moderators over defamation, falsified messages, and disrupting his business.
H3 Podcast’s Ethan Klein posted multiple Instagram stories calling out Reddit moderators from the r/H3snark subreddit. The YouTuber alleged that the mod team has been targeting him since 2023. He claimed in his posts that the subreddit’s moderators used falsified messages, disrupted his business, and defamed him online.
On October 7, 2023, the Israel-Palestine conflict escalated with Hamas terrorists targeting Israeli civilians. Klein, who is an Israeli-American of Jewish descent, called out Hamas’ actions and has held a pro-Israel stance since the terror attack. Many internet users who are pro-Palestine due to Israel’s bombings of the Gaza Strip condemn Klein’s political views online.
Multiple pro-Palestine subreddits are seemingly in a confrontation with Ethan Klein online. According to a post on the influencer gossip subreddit r/FauxMoi, Klein is targeting multiple subreddits. Klein himself hinted at a civil lawsuit against Reddit moderators on Instagram.
Ethan Klein Is Seemingly Suing Reddit Moderators for Defamation
On February 17, 2023, Ethan Klein posted multiple Instagram stories alleging that the r/H3snark moderators are YouTuber Trisha Paytas’ “superfans.” Paytas and Klein had a dispute over their podcast in 2021 and parted ways. Klein said:
“Two of the main mods are actually Trisha super fans. Ironic that they organized a harassment campaign to ruin my life for being a Zionist when Trisha is ACTUALLY a Jewish supremacist and Moses has fought in combat for the IDF (Israeli Defence Force).”
He also called out the r/H3snark subreddit for allegedly attacking him and his wife. The YouTuber said:
“You have spent all of your free time since Oct 7 2023 in an effort to torture me, my wife, my family, my employees, my friends. You have defamed me, knowingly falsified images, broken laws, and interfered in my business. Nobody should ever have to endure this level of malicious harassment, and yet you have inflicted it on me and people I love. You guys know me quite well, being long time paying members. I hope that what proceeds won’t jeopardize your membership as we look forward to and enjoy your continued patronage.”
He hinted at a civil litigation lawsuit against Reddit moderators. Klein suggested that he was trying to find the moderators’ IP addresses and uncover their identities to sue them.
Influencer Gossip Subreddit Calls Out Klein’s “Attacks”
The r/FauxMoi subreddit’s mod team posted a thread claiming that Ethan Klein was attacking multiple subreddits. They were allegedly receiving “ominous messages” from fresh accounts with no Reddit usage history. The post claimed that Ethan Klein escalated the ongoing conflict by making public threats on his latest YouTube livestream.
Klein hinted at “retaliation” against the Subreddits and expressed his frustration that the H3 Podcast was now being used as a slur in some Reddit communities. The r/FauxMoi mods alleged that Klein made false claims to “brigade” with his community and doxx individuals.
Moderators claimed Klein of using his large audience to target communities. Many Redditors called the YouTuber a “hypocrite” as he allegedly promotes free speech while also silencing his critics.
