The Gainer is a unique pistol that is easy to pick up early on, and with some simple modifications and levels in Gun Nut, can pack a powerful punch. Additionally, it comes with the Incendiary effect, which will set your target on fire for 15 points of damage.
The Gainer Location and where to find in Fallout 4:
- Location: Vitale Pumphouse
- Dropped by/Looted From: Found next to a skeleton in the Pumphouse after you enter the code on the locked door.
How to Get The Gainer in Fallout 4
To find The Gainer in Fallout 4 you have to discover the Vitale Pumphouse which is at an unmarked location. You can find it south of Hub City Auto Wreckers, or directly east of Finch Farm, on the far east side of the Fallout 4 map.
After locating the Pumphouse you’ll have to use a code to get inside the locked door at the bottom of the stairs. Look on the back of the wall to the right of the console where you enter the code. Underneath the stairs you will see the numbers 0, 4, 5, 1. However, this can be confusing because you can’t enter a zero into the door-lock mechanism. Therefore, you’ll need to enter a 10 instead.
Consequently, the code to unlock the door is 10, 4, 5, and 1. At the console you will need to click the first button ten times, the second button four times, and so on. Then, the door will unlock and you can go through.
Straight ahead you will see a bright red, headless skeleton. On the floor next to it you will find The Gainer pistol!

Moreover, it also comes with a bull barrel, comfort grip, and reflex site mods already attached. You should also consider changing out the standard receiver for the advanced receiver, which can increase your damage by over 200!
