Twitch streamer Plaqueboymax told his fans that he is suing rapper Lil Tjay for selling merch with Max’s face on it.
Streamer and FaZe member Maxwell “Plaqueboymax” Elliot Dent revealed that he is suing the rapper Tione “Lil Tjay” Jayden Merritt. During a livestream on January 16, 2025, the FaZe content creator watched Tjay promote merch using Plaqueboymax’s face on it.
The streamer said that he would sue Tjay for allegedly using his copyrighted content without permission and recover all profits. His statement comes just days after Lil Tjay escalated a feud with Plaqueboymax. The rapper visited the FaZe content creator’s Airbnb and got into a verbal argument over smoking.
The FaZe content creator said on stream that he is “suing the sh*t out of” Lil Tjay. The rapper did not respond to the copyright infringement allegations. Tjay’s promotional videos with Max’s music are still up at the time of writing.
Plaqueboymax Comments on Lil Tjay’s Alleged Copyright Infringement
During Max’s stream on January 16, 2025, someone sent him a link to one of Tjay’s videos. He was surprised after seeing his face on Tjay’s merch. There was also a soundtrack playing with the lyrics:
“And my real name Max. Yeah. And I really got Plaques. Yeah. Double digit no cap. I’m the real Plaqueboymax.”
Tjay was sporting a hoodie with Plaqueboymax’s face on it, which prompted the FaZe streamer to issue a statement. He said:
“Lil TJay I’m suing the sh*t out of you. I’m taking all earnings. I’m suing the sh*t out of you. All earnings going to Five Star Incorporation pockets. Just so n*ggas know. And don’t try to call me Drake either ’cause I’m letting y’all n*ggas know beforehand.”
Max and TJay’s Feud Explained
On January 9, 2025, Lil Tjay and Maxie “Fivio Foreign” Lee Ryles III visited Plaqueboymax’s Airbnb. The two rappers started smoking inside the living area, to which the FaZe Clan streamer said:
“Yo Tjay, it’s a Bnb, you can’t smoke here. This sh*t gonna go off. I appreciate you though.”
The two rappers ignored the streamer’s requests, and Plaqueboymax asked them to stop repeatedly. The duo left the Airbnb:
“I’ve been to jail, bro. I was a felon at 13. I don’t know who these n*ggas think Tjay is. ‘Excuse me, appreciated.’ What type of reaction do you think you gonna get from now, gang? You think you’re my mother, bro? For real, n*ggas slap the sh*t out of you.”
Tjay seemed upset at the situation and said he never heard of the FaZe streamer before meeting him. The rapper said he smokes everywhere he goes and pays fines. Tjay said he would have slapped Plaqueboymax if they were not on stream.
The incident sparked tensions between Plaqueboymax and Tjay. The FaZe streamer did not confront the rapper following the incident. However, Tjay’s alleged copyright infringement prompted Max to initiate legal action.
