The Rod of the Forgotten Fang (ROTFF) is one of the newest and most powerful fishing rods in Fisch. It isn’t something you can pick up from a merchant or stumble upon randomly while exploring. This rod needs to be crafted, and getting to the point where you can even see it on the crafting table requires effort.
You’ll need to unlock a hidden chamber, gather specific rare items, and hit level 750 before you’re eligible to make it. It’s a late-game item designed for players who want to maximize their fishing stats and unlock unique perks. The grind is steep, but the payoff is worth it.
How To Get Rod of the Forgotten Fang in Fisch
To get the Rod of the Forgotten Fang in Fisch, you need to follow a multi-step process. You cannot buy it from any merchant in the game. Instead, you must craft it, and the option to do so only appears once you reach level 750. The crafting location is inside the Ancient Archives Chamber, which is hidden on the Ancient Isles.
Start by heading to the shores of the Ancient Isles and looking for a waterfall. Use parkour and your glider to reach the cave entrance behind the waterfall. Inside, you’ll find a large chamber with four pillars. To unlock this chamber, you need to gather Ancient Fragments and activate all four pillars at the same time. This step requires three other players, as the pillars must be triggered simultaneously.
Things needed to Craft ROTFF
Once the chamber is unlocked, you’ll gain access to the anvil, where you can craft the rod. However, you still need the required items and currency before you begin. To craft the Rod of the Forgotten Fang, you must collect the following:
- Meg’s Spine x2
- Meg’s Fang x2
- Lunar Thread x1
- 300,000 C$
You can find Meg’s Spine and Meg’s Fang by fishing near the Ancient Isles, especially on the western side near the same waterfall that leads to the chamber. These drops are not guaranteed, so expect to fish for a while. As for the Lunar Thread, you can randomly obtain it while fishing, or you have a small 3 percent chance to get it from a Treasure Chest.
After you’ve collected all the materials and reached the required level, go back to the chamber and interact with the anvil. The crafting process is straightforward from here. Simply select the rod and confirm. At this point, the Rod of the Forgotten Fang will be added to your inventory.
