Steam’s highly anticipated Steam Summer Sale 2025 has finally arrived and has brought forth tons of deep discounts and exciting deals. Tons of games are on sale and have rightfully been the hot topic of discussion amongst gamers. However, tons of games are not on sale as well, and some of these games are pretty high profile in nature.

Since lots of people build up their wishlists in hopes of picking up games during a big sale, anyone picking the games mentioned below may be disappointed. The games mentioned below are not on sale, but they should have gotten discounts. Still, we hope that some of these games get their due discounts later in the year.

1) Sekiro (and Other Souls Games)

FromSoftware has been consistently successful for well over a decade, and the fact that Elden Ring is their only major title on sale this Steam Summer Sale 2025 is a bummer. Loads of people would’ve had their first taste of Souls with Nightreign and hoped to hop onto their first single-player Souls game, only to find none of them on sale. Since Bandai Namco and Activision have also increased the base price of all Souls games after the launch of Elden Ring, a lack of discounts is disappointing.

2) Last of Us Part 2 Remastered

The Last of Us Part 2 is one of the best PS exclusives of all time. Regardless of what you think of its story, its gameplay is undeniably one of the best in the genre. The game, however, is not on sale as part of the Steam Summer Sale 2025. TLOU2 may have just released on PC back in April, but so did Clair Obscur Expedition 33.

Expedition 33 was released in the final week of April and has seen its fair share of discounts. Sure, the discounts were only 10 percent, but that’s still significant considering the game is brand new. TLOU2, however, hasn’t seen one yet, and we can only hope that we get one in the next sale.

3) Metal Gear Solid V

Both Hideo Kojima and Metal Gear Solid have been a bit of a hot topic this year. Death Stranding 2, Kojima’s latest creation, was released on PS5 this past week. Similarly, the MGS3 remake, too, is around the corner. In preparation for both games, a lot of people, including us, had hoped to run through the entire Kojima/Metal Gear catalog. Taking this into consideration, the fact that Metal Gear Solid V is not on sale is honestly bizarre. Now would’ve been the perfect time to tap into the MGS hype, or perhaps just the Kojima hype.

4) Split Fiction

Made by the makers of It Takes Two and A Way Out, Split Fiction is a co-op game that throws you into the shoes of Mio and Zoe. Mio and Zoe are writers, and in Split Fiction, you get to live through their created fictional worlds. The game follows more or less the same formula as It Takes Two and is a total blast to play.

Unfortunately, the game hasn’t gone on sale yet. Yes, you could split the cost for the game plus friend pass, but it would be much easier to do so on a discount.

5) Path of Exile 2

The final game we wished was on a discount is Path of Exile 2. Path of Exile 2 is an action RPG with multiplayer elements. The game builds upon the foundations of the original game, bringing a bigger map, more weapons to pick from, and a greater enemy variety. There are tons of reasons to play this game, even despite it still being in its infancy with Early Access.

Now, while some may believe that Early Access disqualifies a game from a discount, that was not the case with Hades 2 and No Rest For The Wicked. We would love to pick this one up on sale.
