Is It Worth Buying the XFX Radeon RX 7900XT?

This GPU with RDNA 3 architecture easily handles gaming at 4K (Image via XFX | Deltia’s Gaming)

To begin with, the 20 GB of GDDR6 memory provides a future-proof sensation. With this amount of VRAM, it easily handles VR applications, high-resolution textures, and GPU-accelerated workflows. This card performs exceptionally well in 4K gaming and can comfortably push any modern game past 60 FPS in ultra settings. The second-gen RT cores in AMD also make ray tracing smoother.

Second, the powerful triple-fan cooler and 2.5-slot design maintain low temperatures and minimize the noise. Add to that thermal headroom that allows gentle overclocks, which is perfect for enthusiasts who enjoy tweaking.

Suited for the content creators, the chiplet interconnect and Infinity Cache (80 MB) of the RX 7900XT provide up to 2.9 TB/s of effective bandwidth. It means the ability to render more quickly in Premiere Pro, real-time previews in Blender, and, of course, no stuttering while editing 8K. When combined with a Ryzen CPU, there is an additional boost, courtesy of AMD Smart Access Memory.

However, there are two caveats that we need to mention. The power draw is in the vicinity of 300 W. So, you need a good 750 W (or more) PSU and adequate case airflow. Although its GPU encoding is good, it is still superseded by the NVENC encoder of NVIDIA when it comes to streamers. However, when raw rasterization, huge VRAM capacity, and chiplet-driven efficiency are at the top of your list, the RX 7900XT is hard to beat, especially at this price.

XFX Radeon RX 7900XT GPU Deal Overview

At under $700, this card is one of the best options with 20 GB VRAM (Image via XFX | Deltia’s Gaming)

The current deal on Amazon lowers the price of the XFX Radeon RX 7900XT by $109.73, to $680.26. It is one of the rare instances when a high-end card with 20 GB of VRAM can fall below the $700 mark. This deal is a great way to get a powerhouse to play 4K games, GPU-accelerated rendering, or data-intensive creative tasks.

However, not all people need such performance. The RX 7600 or NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti will be cheaper and less power-hungry, and you can expect excellent performance at 1080p or 1440p without ray tracing. Similarly, when you need easier encoding to stream or a more compact form factor, an efficient model is the choice.
