Grounded 2 has introduced a new archetype system that adds different classes for players to choose from. Each class provides unique buffs when you wear a complete set of armor and use a specific weapon under that class. However, whether you are playing solo or multiplayer, some classes are better than others, depending on available weapons and perks.

To help you out, here are all the Grounded 2 classes ranked.

All Grounded 2 Classes Ranking

Currently, there are four classes available in Grounded 2. Here’s a list starting with the best class you can use right now.

Fighter Class

The Fighter Class is the best in Grounded 2. It is a versatile class for both solo and multiplayer playthroughs. The unique trait you get from using this class is that hitting enemies generates a buff called Threat. This causes nearby hostile insects to target you primarily. Thanks to the tanky armor sets, the Fighter class is perfect for brawling freely without worrying about death.

In addition to its unique skill, the Fighter class also has access to some of the best Tier-3 weapons. It is recommended to build around clubs to maximize your damage.

Rogue Class

While the Rogue Class can also deal high damage, it is a very technical class that requires stealth and preparation to master. Its unique trait enhances the final hit in the 3-hit combo of dual-wielding weapons, which increases the critical hit chance.

The significant damage comes from the initial charged attack before a fight, as it guarantees a critical hit with increased damage. The main downside is the low survivability since you mainly rely on dashing around to avoid taking hits from formidable enemies.

Mage Class

The Mage Class uses staffs to deliver high amounts of damage at the cost of high stamina usage. However, the full armor set buff reduces stamina consumption significantly, allowing for more attacks. While capable of inflicting some of the highest damage in the game, you will need to prepare extensively before executing your build.

It’s recommended to gather materials with other classes first and then switch to Mage once you’ve collected what you need to craft the best build.

Ranger Class

Due to the current availability of weapons and mutations, the Ranger class comes fourth in this list. While having moderate defense, your only offensive damage comes from using various types of arrows. Rangers have no class-specific melee weapons, so you have to constantly dash around the enemies while keeping an eye on the stamina bar, which can be difficult when having to aim at enemies.

The worst part of being a Ranger is that the variety of weapons isn’t as large as that of the other classes. There are only four different types of bows, with one being a unique weapon. Moreover, there are no crossbows in the game like in the prequel, which overall makes the Ranger class very underwhelming in solo playthroughs. Note that you still can become a good sub-DPS if your friend can take the aggro from enemies.
