These locations are selected based on safety and the availability of early-game resources needed for building a good base. Here are some of them:

1. Snackbar Ranger Outpost

The Snackbar location is the first outpost you unlock through mission objectives. Moreover, it is currently the best place to build a base in Grounded 2. First, there are no threats in this area, as no hostile bugs spawn near the outpost. Additionally, the area has abundant grass and most early-game resources nearby, including grubs and sap.

There is also an analyzer inside the Ranger Outpost, which you can use to scan new items you find during your adventure. Keep in mind that traveling to faraway places can be difficult because ziplines are not yet available in Grounded 2. Therefore, your best means of transportation from this location is your buggy.

2. Ceremony Rock

The Ceremony zone is dangerous but filled with bugs and resources that can support you through the early to mid-game. A large boulder in the center of the zone provides a safe place to build, protecting you from ground enemies. The boulder is also big enough to be expanded in future updates, as new materials and buildings are added. All essential building materials and resources are nearby. Having your base in the middle of the map makes exploration easier, as you’re close to many important regions in the game.

3. Picnic Wooden Posts

If you prefer not to build sky-high bases, you can construct on the flat ground east of the trash bags in the Picnic Table area. With easy access to early-game resources, you can utilize the nearby Ranger Outpost to scan materials. Additionally, the cooler nearby ensures you have access to clean water every day. If you wish, you can build up to the top of the fence posts to create a sky base that is safe from ground enemies. Note that bugs rarely wander into this area, so you will generally be safe. However, it’s wise to invest in some defenses.
