Grounded 2 has launched its early access for now, which has led some people to wonder when it will fully release Version 1.0.
Obsidian Entertainment’s newest release, Grounded 2, has been out in Early Access for a while now. The Early Access launched on July 29, 2025, and has since seen its popularity climb. The game involves the protagonist being shrunk down, trying to survive in a hostile backyard where everything can be dangerous.
Even in Early Access, the game already has a lot of content worth exploring. However, the full release is not yet out. Although we don’t have an official confirmation regarding this full release, we can make a likely estimate based on various facts. Here is everything we know about the upcoming full release for Version 1.0 of Grounded 2.

For now, there is no officially confirmed date regarding the release of version 1.0. The aim of the developers seems to be on polishing the Early Access as much as possible, along with adding new content. The latest Version 0.1.2, fixed a ton of bugs and added new mechanics like Fast Travel. However, this is definitely not the end.
We know this from the Grounded 2 Roadmap, which detailed the developer’s plans for the upcoming months. You can read a more detailed overview of the roadmap here. This roadmap detailed plans for the Early Access until at least the summer of 2026. There were a bunch of new items and changes that will be released even beyond this time period. (In the above shown image, the ‘Future Plans’ category has no date set for now.)
Judging by the number of items that were left for beyond Summer 2026, we can likely estimate that the Early Access will run for a long time. A more focused estimate might put it somewhere in mid- to late 2027. That was everything to know about the full release of Grounded 2 Version 1.0 for now. As we receive more updates, the release date will likely become clearer from future announcements and updates.
