Praying Mantis Nymphs are one of the few new enemies in Grounded 2. Here’s how to locate and defeat these dangerous creatures.
Grounded 2 has introduced many new and dangerous creatures to the franchise, including the Praying Mantis Nymph. This is a Tier-3 enemy that spawns in certain locations of Brookhollow Park. Additionally, you will need to defeat a lot of them to create current late-game weapon and armor sets.
To help you out, here’s how to find and defeat Praying Mantis Nymphs in Grounded 2.

Praying Mantis Nymph Locations in Grounded 2
The Praying Mantis Nymphs spawn on top of special pink flowers that are scattered around the map. These flowers are quite large and can also be seen when using the map. There are a total of five locations where the Praying Mantis Nymphs can spawn, and here are all of them:
All Spawn Locations
1. Pine Hill
You cannot see the flower for this location on the map, but the first Praying Mantis spawns under Pine Hill, located at the top left corner of the map. The mantis roams around the hedges, looking for its next prey.
2. Ceremony
The second Praying Mantis Nymph spawns in the northeastern corner of the Ceremony zone, right before the statue base.
3. Statue
The third flower is located in the flower bed on the right side of the large statue. Fighting the Praying Mantis Nymph in this location can be challenging due to the number of hostile bugs nearby.
4. Snackbar Front
This flower is located right in the middle of the Snackbar Front zone. Note that this Praying Mantis Nymph is the closest to the spawn, which means you will locate it very early in the game. Do not attempt to fight it without high-tier armor and weapons.
5. Entrance
The final Praying Mantis Nymph on the map spawns in the southern Entrance area. There is a Stink Bug nearby that you can lure to help during the fight.

Tips to Easily Defeat Praying Mantis Nymphs in Grounded 2
Here are some tips and tricks you can use to easily defeat the Praying Mantis Nymphs:
- The Praying Mantis Nymph is weak to Fresh and Slashing damage. It is best to use the Ice Sickles for this fight, as it is the best weapon to deal with this creature. You can also use Mint Arrows to deal damage from a safe spot.
- Use the Dash feature frequently, as the Praying Mantis can be quite agile. It can jump around on the leaves and vanish in a puff of white smoke.
- Watch out for the ground slam attack; you cannot block it. The only way to dodge it is by dashing out of the landing area.
- Bring other creatures into the fight. Most Praying Mantis Nymph spawn locations are near other dangerous creatures. Use arrows to lure creatures from far away.
Once you beat the Praying Mantis Nymph, quickly loot the body to avoid Cockroaches from consuming it.
