Grounded 2 builds on Grounded 1 with new mechanics. Check our essential tips to help returning players adapt and thrive faster.

For players returning to Grounded 2 after the first game, the new title may appear very familiar at first glance, but there are several new mechanics and features at play. Although Grounded 2 launched in early access, it has introduced a cornucopia of fresh content, building on the solid foundation of the original game. This article covers Grounded 2 tips and tricks that benefit beginners and veterans alike.
Grounded 2: Tips For Grounded 1 Players
Improve Weapons and Armor With the Smithing Station

You can build the Smithing Station at the Workstation after buying it using Raw Science at the Ranger Station. The Smithing Station allows you to upgrade armor and weapons using Brittle Whetstone and Plating. The Smoothie Station can be similarly unlocked, making healing and buffing consumables for your adventure.
Carrying More Items at Once

Cutting down plants like dandelions and carrying their planks back to base can take multiple trips, even with a mount. However, you can carry far more with each trip using all the tools at your disposal.
First, set down your pallet and load it with planks. Then load up the ant storage. Finally, stack up to five planks in your hand. To carry the pallet, press “Relocate” (F key on PC) on it and head back to base on foot with the ant following you. You can also use this method to carry two eggs at once, one in the ant’s storage and one in your hand.
Charge Attack to Power Through Blocks

Stronger bugs like spiders and scorpions can block your attacks. Use charge attacks to break through their block by holding down the attack button. A twinkle appears on the weapon while charging the attack, indicating the perfect time to land a critical strike.
Easily Crossing Spider Webs

Several areas of the map will feature convenient bridges of spider webs. However, if you attempt to cross them directly, the web ensnares you. The game’s intended solution to cross webs is to use spider buggies. However, if you run across the very edge of the web, it won’t slow you down. This is likely a bug and may be patched out in a future update.
Sleeping Completes Crafting Production

Processing resources is time-consuming in Grounded 2. For example, making Plant Fiber out of Crude Rope in Spinning Wheels takes a lot of time, and you’ll have to set up multiple stations to process your resources.
However, you can sleep on the bed at night to instantly complete all the crafting processes. Sleeping also grants the ‘Comfy Hunger’ and ‘Comfy Thirst’ passives, which decrease how quickly Hunger and Thirst gauges deplete.
Collecting Water Droplets
Gathering water is an integral part of both Grounded games’ survival mechanics. Grounded 1 allowed players to throw objects like pebblets at water droplets hanging from grass to collect them. However, to collect similarly placed water droplets in Grounded 2, you have to hit the grass. This will result in the water droplets falling down, becoming available to collect.
