GTA 6 Trailer 2 Breakdown: Easter Eggs and Things You May’ve Missed

GTA 6 recently revealed trailer 2, and fans have been excited ever since. Unfortunately, the release date seems to have been pushed back to 2026, but this new trailer brings more details for us to explore. There are several minor details that we might not be able to cover in this article, as we are instead focusing on major elements you may not have paid attention to. Without further ado, let’s jump into the breakdown.

Are Dual Protagonists Confirmed?

Ever since the leaks began, one of the major points of discussion has been the possibility of having two protagonists. GTA 5 had three, but it was leaked earlier that the latest Rockstar Games project would have two instead. However, the developers never confirmed it themselves. In the second trailer for GTA 6, we see Jason living his life before bailing Lucia out of prison. This potentially suggests that GTA 6 could have two protagonists: Lucia and Jason.

GTA 6 Trailer 2 Hints at Character Personalities

When the trailer begins, we see how a day in Jason’s life goes. He seems like a friendly person who is rather tranquil for the most part. He does not commit extravagant criminal activities by himself like Trevor Philips or Niko Bellic. We even learn that his full name is Jason Duval. Lucia Caminos, on the other hand, appears to be short-tempered. Before her re-entry into Jason’s life, he did not commit major crimes in the trailer.

However, as soon as Lucia enters, they begin going after big treasures, suggesting she may be the one calling the big shots.

Easter Eggs in GTA 6 Trailer 2

The second trailer is not as filled with easter eggs as the first one. This time, we could only spot two of them. First, and the most obvious, was the name-dropping of Vice City. When the series was confirmed to be returning to Miami, we knew it would eventually be tied to Vice City, but the developers hadn’t revealed much about it. In the trailer, we hear an NPC say, “Vice City, baby!” which confirms the presence of the fan-favorite location in the game.

Another easter egg you may have missed is Phil’s Ammu-Nation. Although it’s clearly visible during the TV scene, you might not have noticed that it’s the same Phil Cassidy who appeared in GTA Vice City and GTA 3.

Showcasing Some Gameplay Features

There are a few gameplay features that the second GTA 6 trailer revealed. For example, in the beginning, we see Jason Duval extorting money for a loan shark acquaintance of his. So, there may be extortion missions similar to those in Red Dead Redemption 2. Moreover, there are scenes showing the protagonists wearing masks during dangerous missions. This is another feature from RDR 2, where your character can be recognized and have a bounty placed on him if he commits illegal actions without covering his face.

Lastly, another feature noted in the new trailer is bodybuilding and fight clubs. Both were first introduced in GTA San Andreas, but now appear to be returning to the franchise in GTA 6!
