Tekken 7 introduced the tradition of adding guest characters as DLC, and Tekken 8 is continuing it well. Clive Rosfield was received well—so much so that he is the most successful guest character yet. As Bandai Namco will definitely continue this tradition in the future, here are five guests that we want to see added in Tekken 8.

1. Kiryu Kazuma

Fans have been begging Harada to add Kiryu Kazuma to Tekken for the longest time. The reason is that he would fit in so well, especially now in Tekken 8 with the Heat system. In addition, Kiryu also has a Heat mechanic in the Yakuza games, making it the perfect opportunity to add him in Season 2. His stances would work flawlessly with Tekken mechanics.

2. Tifa Lockhart

While we already have one Final Fantasy representative with Clive, one more wouldn’t hurt. As Tifa is a strict martial arts practitioner, it is incredibly easy to add her to Tekken 8. Additionally, the combination of Limit Break, Abilities, and Tekken’s Heat mechanic would be fascinating and fun to play with. Furthermore, the immense popularity of Final Fantasy 7 will help the Tekken series branch out even further.

We hope that Harada listens to fans and decides to eventually add her to the game.

3. Lionel Messi

While this sounds absurd, just hear us out. SNK is adding Cristiano Ronaldo to the new Fatal Fury game. So, we ask the question—why not add Lionel Messi to Tekken 8? They could incorporate football with the Heat system, making it incredibly fun to watch and play. Additionally, adding Messi would introduce Tekken to a massive crowd, potentially growing the game beyond a normal fighting game.

In Fatal Fury, they made Ronaldo a stance mix-up-based character who occasionally uses the football as an attack. In Tekken 8, it would be fun if they incorporated the football as a projectile in Heat.

4. Billy Butcher

The Boys’ Billy Butcher would be a great addition to Tekken 8. After Negan’s addition in Tekken 7, it feels fitting to add Butcher to the sequel. He has already been shown to be surprisingly good at hand-to-hand combat, and his powers would work really well with Tekken 8’s Heat system. Additionally, it would help grow the game further, introducing it to many newcomers.

5. Akuma

While Akuma was a controversial addition in Tekken 7, breaking many of its core mechanics, we believe he will work well in Tekken 8. The reason is that everyone is so strong with the Heat system. This makes it so that Akuma will not completely outclass the entire cast with his Street Fighter mechanics. Also, as Street Fighter 6 features the Drive Gauge mechanic, we believe that it will be easier to implement in Tekken 8.

Additionally, as Harada and his team have learned a lot over the past few years, we believe that they can easily make Akuma work this time around.
