Twitch streamer and former League of Legends esports player Daniel “YamatosDeath” Straub called out fellow content creator Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt for rage-baiting. YamatosDeath was unhappy with how Asmongold moved away from gaming content to making controversial statements on Twitch.

Rage-baiting refers to the act of making controversial statements to get more engagement online. Earlier this month Asmongold was under fire for saying that the Holocaust “probably” happened. He also made anti-Palestine comments in 2024, which got him temporarily banned from Twitch.

Internet users have heavily criticized Asmongold’s support for President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk. Recently, the streamer spoke out against Diversity Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies amidst the United States’ anti-DEI stance.

What Did Yamatosdeath Say About Asmongold?

Asmongold said during a livestream on January 26, 2025, that he dislikes DEI policies. He also said that he would never vote for anyone that doesn’t offer him personal benefits. Many internet users called him out for his opinion after a clip from the stream went viral. People commented that Asmongold’s comments undermined the fight for the Civil Rights movement in the United States and equality among citizens.

Twitch streamer YamatosDeath shared his thoughts on the ongoing controversies surrounding Asmongold and said:

“Okay. Asmongold is a millionaire…he lives in the house he has been living in for his entire life. He has cockroaches crawling under him and he has no family, no friends, and he rage-baits for a living. And what? What does the money give him?”

Asmongold has made multiple controversial comments in recent months. He has overtaken Hasan Piker as the number-one political commentator on Twitch since the US Presidential elections. In 2025, the streamer will post more than five political videos a day across both his YouTube channels.

Hasan Piker’s Comments About Asmongold

On January 21, 2025, Asmongold made comments about the Holocaust. He said:

“I am not one of these Holocaust deniers. The Holocaust probably happened. Probably 99% certainty it happened.”

Internet users took offense to Asmon not taking a strong stance on the subject. They also criticized the streamer for defending Elon Musk after the billionaire allegedly made a Nazi hand gesture at the US Presidential elections.

Hasan Piker commented on the situation saying:

“Dude, why is he saying there’s a 1% chance the Holocaust did not happen? Like, are you that desperate to be edgy? Come on Asmon. What’s wrong with your bro? Do I think Asmon thinks the Holocaust didn’t happen? No. He knows the Holocaust happened. 100%. He knows the Holocaust happened.”

Asmongold told his audience that he does not care about potential bans for his controversial statements. He claimed that he lost most sponsors and would move to a different platform if he got banned.
