Hollow Knight Silksong finally has a confirmed release date from Team Cherry. Here’s everything you need to know about the game.

After years of anticipation, Team Cherry has given us a release date for the sequel to their all-time famous Metroidvania title. Hollow Knight Silksong is going to be released on September 4, 2025. In this title, you play as the lethal hunter Hornet, a character who previously appeared in Hollow Knight as a fightable boss. Just like the previous game, Silksong has a much higher focus on platforming and fast-paced combat.
Here’s everything you must know about Hollow Knight Silksong, including what platforms the game will be playable on and more.
All Platforms Hollow Knight Silksong is Releasing On

Hollow Knight Silksong will be playable on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch upon release. However, the game currently does not have a set price, except for the confirmed release date.
If you have the Xbox X/S, you can play Silksong on Day 1 through Game Pass. Additionally, PC users can use either Steam or the Xbox App to play the game using the Game Pass as well. PlayStation users have to purchase the game from the PlayStation Store. Finally, Nintendo Switch 2 users have to buy the digital version of Hollow Knight Silksong from the official Nintendo store.
Should You Purchase Hollow Knight Silksong?

If you enjoy difficult platforming titles with a non-linear progression, you should buy Hollow Knight Silksong. Despite the major hype of the long-awaited release, the playable demo version at Gamescom 2025 has shown significant improvements to both movement and combat compared to the prequel.
Hollow Knight is currently the highest top-rated Metroidvania title on Steam. If Silksong is anything like what the demo suggests, then there’s a strong chance fans will enjoy playing this sequel. You don’t even need to have played the previous title to enjoy Hollow Knight Silksong, as Hornet experiences a completely new story of her own.
