A day in Fields of Mistria can feel too short to get everything done around the farm. Fortunately, you can adjust its length.

Fields of Mistria will have you waking up at 6 am to do a number of farm chores, talk to the townsfolk, fish, do quests, and venture into the Mines before passing out from exhaustion at 2 a.m.—all within 12 minutes of real-world time. As one might appreciate, such little time in the day can grind progress to a halt, especially since heading into the Mines can take an entire day on its own.
With the major v0.13.0 March 2025 update, the game has added the option to change the day’s length. To increase the day’s length, press ‘Esc’ to open the pause menu, head to settings, click ‘Accessibility,’ and select ‘Day Time Speed.’ The speed will be set to ‘Standard’ by default, and you can increase it to ‘Longer’ or ‘Longest’ using the slider.
The game warns that longer days may disrupt NPC schedules. However, the difference will barely be noticeable, especially if you aren’t pursuing any major quests with time-related elements. After you sleep and end the day, the new day length will take effect the following morning.
How Long Is a Day in Fields of Mistria

The standard day in Fields of Mistria is around 12 minutes long. If you increase the day’s length to ‘Longer’ or ‘Longest,’ you may not notice an immediate difference. This is because the day is extended to roughly 14 minutes at ‘Longer’ and 15 minutes at ‘Longest.’
The extended playtime is essential for players who enjoy a laid-back day of farming and fishing, as well as for players progressing deeper into the Mines. Time is a precious commodity in the game, as a player has to complete routine tasks around the farm while exploring the map and progressing the story.
At midnight, the game warns you to go home. By 2 a.m., the character collapses from exhaustion and wakes up at 10 a.m. with 75% health the next day. However, some players hardly notice the three-minute difference between the Standard and Longest day length settings.
This quality-of-life change was most likely limited to prevent major conflicts with NPC and quest schedules. We can hope for a further increase in the game’s day length with future updates, as it is a popularly demanded feature, and the developers have been keenly listening to community feedback.
