Glow Dust is a valuable alchemy ingredient in Oblivion Remastered, obtainable in the early game through combat, exploration, or vendors.

Oblivion Remastered features a nuanced alchemy system, which falls under the magic class specialization boosted by the Intelligence attribute. Glow Dust is an important alchemical ingredient you can find easily and early on in the game through several methods. As an ingredient, Glow Dust can be used to create four different potions once its properties are uncovered. Let’s go through all the methods of procuring Glow Dust in Oblivion Remastered.
Where To Get Glow Dust in Oblivion Remastered

There are two main routes to gathering Glow Dust in Oblivion Remastered. The first involves finding and defeating Will-o-the-Wisps to get Glow Dust as loot. The second is a non-violent approach that involves trading and the Mages Guild.
Will-o-the-Wisp

A common spawn for Will-o-the-Wisps is near Azura’s Shrine. The shrine is located in the northeastern corner of the map, directly north of Lake Arrius. A couple of Will-o-the-Wisps roam the road leading up to the shrine. These ghost-like entities look like a cloud of shimmering light particles coalescing into spheres.
Common physical weapons cannot harm Will-o-the-Wisps. You will need to use magic or special weapon types, e.g., enchanted, daedric, or silver weapons. Will-o-the-Wisps have the ability to turn invisible during combat and absorb health and magicka with their attacks. They also drain two points of Willpower and Intelligence on touch. Reveal invisible enemies by using the Detect Life spell. Newer players without anti-spectral weapons can use a simple fire spell to eliminate a Will-o-the-Wisp in one strike.
Once you have defeated a Will-o-the-Wisp, loot its remains to find Glow Dust. Glow Dust has a carry weight of .01 and is valued at 40 Septims. Its alchemical effects include Light, Restore Speed, Reflect Spell, and Damage Health.
Vendors
You can buy Glow Dust from vendors in the Imperial City’s Market District. Speak to Ogier Georick at The Main Ingredient Alchemy Shop to buy Glow Dust from his stock. Similarly, trading with Claudette Perrick at The Gilded Carafe and Calindil at The Mystic Emporium are quick ways to purchase and obtain Glow Dust.
Mages Guild
You can get Glow Dust for free without spending any coins or fighting Will-o-the-Wisps by heading to the city of Bruma. Once there, make your way to the Mages Guild and join it. Joining the guild will give you access to its living quarters. Enter the living quarters and go to the room in the northwestern corner.
After heading down the stairs, approach the desk near the cupboard, and you will find a piece of Glow Dust sitting on it. If you have joined the guild, picking up the item will not count as thievery. However, this is only a one-time solution for getting Glow Dust.
