Gold Tree Core is one of the key materials that you will need to craft weapons and gear in the mid-to-late stages of Black Myth: Wukong. You need this rare material to craft Legendary weapons, so you will not be able to find it very easily in the game. Where to Find Gold Tree Core in Black Myth: Wukong
Gold Tree Core in Black Myth: Wukong can be found in the world starting in Chapter 4. However, finding this material can be painful. There are a few ways to get this material, but it all depends on RNG and your luck.
Here’s how you can get Gold Tree Core in Black Myth: Wukong:
- Purchase it from Keeper’s Shrine.
- Defeat Yaoguai Chiefs.
- Find it in Chests in Chapters 4 and 5.
Purchase Gold Tree Core from Keeper’s Shrine
You will be able to purchase exactly one Gold Tree Core from the Keeper’s Shrines in Chapter 4. Each Chapter has a specific set of items that you can buy from the Shrines. This will cost you 4500 Will. However, this method is the only confirmed way to get this item; all the other methods rely on luck.
Defeat Yaoguai Chiefs
Some Yaoguai Chiefs will drop Gold Tree Core after you defeat them. However, there is no confirmed Yaoguai Chief that drops this item. The drop rate is based on luck, so you need to keep defeating them and hope to get the item. Keep an eye on the right-hand section of your screen to get the notification for the drop after defeating Yougai Chiefs.
Collect from Chests
The most common way to get Gold Tree Core in Black Myth: Wukong is looting chests in Chapters 4 and 5. Akin to the Youguai Chief drops, this is based on RNG. You will have to keep opening chests and hope that one of them has this item.
To farm Gold Tree Cores from chests, you will have to explore every area properly once you reach Chapter 4. Chests are hidden in many areas, often guarded by lesser Yaoguais or Chiefs. Beating them is a win-win scenario since you can get the item drop from them as well.
Weapons That Need Gold Tree Core to be Crafted
Gold Tree Core is needed to craft the following weapons in Black Myth: Wukong:
- Spikeshaft Staff
- Spider Celestial Staff
Both of these Staffs are Legendary-tier weapons and provide a significant amount of stat boost.
In our playthrough, we also found Gold Tree Core in Chapter 3, but the drop seems to be entirely random and there is no confirmed way to get it. If you explore every nook and cranny in Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong, chances are you will find one or more of this item as well.
