Where to find the Luminous Armour in Baldur’s Gate 3
To get the Luminous Armour, you must first enter the Underdark. There are a few entrances, including trying the Shattered Sanctum and Auntie Ethel’s house, but I’ll quickly explain how to get there through the Whispering Depths underneath Blighted Village. You’ll need the potion, scroll, or spell of Feather Fall, so ensure you have one before proceeding.
Find the Underdark

Set your course west from Emerald Grove, and you’ll easily find the Blighted Village and a well in the middle. You must pass an Investigation skill check of 10 DC, to use it and climb down to the Whispering Depths. Inside the cave system, there are giant Spiders and Spider Matriarchs (X: -543 Y: -366). You must defeat them first, so we advise you to reach at least level 3 so you’ll have no problem with the fight and surviving in the Underdark.

Get the Luminous Armour
Once you are ready and defeated the spiders, you need to jump down the big tunnel (X: -543 Y: -366) leading straight down to the Underdark, and that’s when you need the Feather Fall spell. Use it so you won’t take any fall damage. You must find the Selunite Outpost on the far southeast side of the Underdark map. Still, active defense systems won’t allow you to enter the ruins from the front gate. Jump the rocky shelves on the left side of the outpost, where there is a broken window and destroyed wall, allowing you easy access inside.

Once inside, take the stairs up and unlock the iron door to the east room, where you find a glided chest with the Helmet of Smiting (X:164 Y:-251). As you approach, your team will automatically pass a perception check, unveiling the hidden door to the east. If you happen to fail this skill check, you can save the game and bring a different companion from your camp to the area. If necessary, load the game, and repeat the process until the door is revealed. Note that both chests in the hidden room are rigged with traps, so be sure to disarm them before looting the Luminous Armour from the chest (X:175 Y:-247) in Baldur’s Gate 3!
How to Use the Luminous Armour in BG3?
To use the main effect of the Luminous Armour, simply equip it on an eligible character, preferably one that can deal Radiant damage in some form. Paladins and Clerics make ideal candidates but most character can find some way to deal radiant damage in some form. Every time that character deals Radiant damage, it emits a Radiant Burst which places 2 stacks of Radiating Orb on enemies within 3 meters. Radiating Orb causes effected entities to have a -1 to their attack rolls for every stack. This can be stacked up to 10 times and enemies drop a stack every turn.
Tips and Tricks of the Luminous Armour in BG3
Prior to Patch 5, Luminous Armour could bypass the 10 stack rule of Radiating Orb which basically allowed it to apply infinite stacks. This has been fixed but you can still easily apply up to 10 stacks provided you build into Radiant damage. Light Domain Clerics and Paladins are easily able to deal radiant damage, making this armor piece a great fit for them. Pair this armor with other Luminous items or Radiant items for some extreme synergy.
