When playing Ark Ragnarok Ascended, you’ll find yourself crafting a ton of items. As you go about looking at the list of items you can craft, you’ll find Obsidian to be in a good chunk of them, especially when it comes to the modern tech.
Obsidian is a crafting resource that is as rare as it is versatile. This resource is used to craft a huge list of items. Some items on this list include Arthropluera Saddle, Artifact Pedestal, Camera, Cannon Ball, Electronic Binoculars, Handcuffs, Harpoon Launcher, Lance, Magnifying Glass, Obsidian Spear, Pliers, Polymer, Scissors, Snowman, and Tek Binoculars.
As you can see, this is a highly versatile list consisting of both weapons, accessories, and tools. Obsidian, therefore, is your lifeline in Ark Ragnarok Ascended. As per the Obsidian item description, the valuable resource is found underground. While this may be generally true, it can also be misleading. Obsidian is also found above the surface, which is a generally much safer way to obtain the item.
In order to find Obsidian, we recommend heading over to (Latitude 21.5, Longitude 77.5). This is a vast, open grass field with rock formations encircling the field. The Obsidian ores are all over this field, and are especially clustered in large numbers by the rock formations.
Approach any of the Obsidian ores, and you can then mine them using a pickaxe. If you can’t identify the Obsidian ores, look out for large black rocks with a glossy texture. They’re easy to spot and stand out amidst the green of the fields.
While the Obsidian ores here are plenty, if you wish to gather more and are feeling bold, you can also cross the fields and travel over to the Wyvern area. This area is incredibly dangerous, but the rewards are well worth the risk. If you feel it’s too risky, however, the grass field should keep you stocked up on Obsidian well enough.
