Armor in The First Berserker Khazan is a tricky affair. While you do get plenty of options when it comes to armor sets and pieces, the set bonuses and random drops make it somewhat difficult to invest in a specific build, especially in the early to mid-game sections. While you can craft armor sets once you unlock the Blacksmith Qazumaka, doing so requires collecting the crafting recipes first.

Although you do get armor-crafting recipes from defeating the main story and optional bosses, some are hidden in optional areas, which can be quite difficult to find. One such armor set is the Deep Shadow set, which you unlock after defeating Maluca in the Veiled Knives main mission.

While you can obtain parts of this armor set as random drops from enemies and even late-game bosses, the best way to get it is via the crafting recipe. Here’s everything you need to know about the Deep Shadow set and how to obtain it in The First Berserker Khazan.

The Deep Shadow set can be obtained as random drops from enemies. However, the drop chance of this armor set is fairly low from mob enemies. The best way to obtain the Deep Shadow set is to defeat bosses like Rangkus and Maluca. However, there’s another way to obtain the full set as well as the Formless Warrior’s Spear. You can craft the full Deep Shadow set using the crafting recipe.

The crafting recipe for the set can be obtained in the main story mission—Devoured Village (El Ravaca Village). You can get the recipe quite early in the mission, right after the very first Nexus checkpoint. After starting the quest, head toward the village’s central area, where you will find a Nexus to the left.

From the Nexus, take the leftmost path toward a ruined building. Head inside the building and climb the ladder to reach the rooftop. Do note that the building houses a few undead enemies. We highly recommend defeating them before making your way to the top of the roof. From the roof, look to the right and jump down to another part of the structure. You will find a hole in the ceiling where you land. Taking a look through the hole, you will see a beam right below it. You will find the Deep Shadow set recipe at the end of this beam.

Carefully drop down to the beam and grab the crafting recipe. Once you have the crafting recipe in your grasp, take it to the Blacksmith, Qazumaka, to craft the Deep Shadow armor set and the Formless Warrior’s Spear.

Deep Shadow Set’s Stats

The Deep Shadow set is one of the best armor sets in The First Berserker Khazan, especially if you prefer the Spear weapon type. The armor set massively boosts the Frontal Assault skill. This skill increases the damage you deal from the front. Furthermore, this skill massively boosts the damage dealt by the Brutal Strike from the front, which comes in incredibly handy in the late game. Dealing a Brutal Strike from the front not only heals you but also replenishes your Stamina.

Additionally, equipping the full armor set grants a significant boost to the Assault and Afterimage Thrust abilities of the Spear. As such, if you’re using a Spear, you will want to equip the full set.

Here’s a look at the Deep Shadow set’s stats:

  • Frontal Assault: Stamina Damage Increase – 15%
  • Frontal Assault: Damage Increase – 10%
  • Guard Penetration – 90%
  • Assault: Damage Increase – 15%
  • Afterimage Thrust: Damage Increase – 20%
