Gifting Special Research to friends in Pokemon GO is a fantastic way to share excitement and make someone’s day brighter. Whether you’re planning a surprise for a friend or organizing a community event, this guide will walk you through the process.
Sharing Special Research event tickets allows trainers to enjoy special research and events together, strengthening connections in the game. It’s a thoughtful gesture that can enhance everyone’s experience. Keep in mind that tickets for in-person events, like Safari Zones, follow different rules and cannot be gifted using this process.
Steps to Gift Special Research to Friends
1) Open the Shop
Start by visiting the in-game shop. Browse the available event tickets and decide which one you want to gift. Remember, you can only gift tickets purchased with real money. Tickets or items bought with Pokecoins, or Pokecoins themselves, cannot be gifted.
2) Select the Gift Option
Tap on the event ticket you want to share. You’ll see two buttons: Buy and Gift. If you’ve already bought the ticket for yourself, the Buy button will be unavailable (grayed out). Choose a Gift to continue.
3) Pick Your Friend
Your friends list will appear. You can scroll through it or use the search bar at the top to find the friend you’d like to gift. Sorting options like Name, Nickname, or Friendship Level make it easier to locate them.
Before proceeding, ensure your friend meets these conditions:
- They are at least Great Friends with you.
- They don’t already own the ticket.
- They haven’t received the same ticket from another trainer.
4) Confirm Your Gift
Once you select your friend, you’ll see a confirmation screen. Carefully review the details. If you need to make changes, you can cancel and go back to the previous step. If everything looks correct, confirm your choice.
The app will direct you to your app store’s payment page. You can still cancel the process at this point if you change your mind. Completing the payment sends the ticket to your friend.
5) Gift Confirmation
After the payment process, a confirmation screen will appear, letting you know your gift was successfully sent. Tap OK to return to the shop. If you want to send more tickets, remember that you need to gift each one individually. There’s a daily limit of 20 paid gift tickets.
Important Notes for Gifting
- No Refunds: No refund is available for the Tickets you have purchased for friends. So, make sure they can participate in the event before sending the gift.
- Non-Cancelable: Once you send a ticket, you cannot cancel or retrieve it.
Receiving a Gifted Ticket
When you receive a ticket from a friend, you’ll see an in-game notification the next time you log in. This pop-up will display the sender’s name and the event the ticket is for. Tap OK to accept the ticket, which will be added to your item storage.
